This will make your sigs/images have a nice looking border and give them some depth.
Start off with a new canvas lets say 500 x 100 should do the trick for sigs.
Next select your lasso tool and make it a polygonal lasso.
Then just create your border to your liking making sure you join it up at the ends. Tip : holding shift will keep lines straight.
Once you have created your border goto select/inverse wich will inverse the selection and allow you to color it whatever color you like.
Then select/deselect. You can now add some blending options to that layer. I usally go for a drop shadow, inner shadow, bevel and emboss.
Next you want to add your image. First create a new layer, then find the image you want to use. With your marque tool highlight a section of it, then with your drag tool place it onto your canvas. Dont worry if you loose your border, all you need to do is goto layer/arrange/send to back
All thats left to do now is add some text so again create a new layer this way you can add some blending option to your text.
