Post PHP-Nuke Forums dont work Posted: Sat May 19, 2007 1:16 pm

Hi im the admin of the clan site www.kick.clanservers.com and I have recently installed php nuke, it all works ok except the forums, i can access the forum admin and make new categories and forums but when i go to view them it just says infomation and a blank box. I then made the forums the item on the front page and then i could see the forums but when i clicked on a forum or category or tried to log in it just went to the blank information box.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks, }PC{HMS_VICTORY

Post Is it an Windows or linux based server Posted: Sat May 19, 2007 1:29 pm

Are you using an 3rd party package like Lamp Wamp5 or xampp

i am assuming its xampp sounds thats the one that is most common for the forum admin page to show up blank or not work

due to some pear scripting

quick fix / see if it will work

go into php folder

find the config file for pear and reboot and see if it still does it

80% sure its Config.php in the pear folder ... long day of trying to get my own site going :P

Are you receiving any error message?.

I ran into a similar problem when installing a local instance of phpnuke. Logged in as administrator I clicked on Forum in the modules administration section and I received the following:

Quote:
PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class config in C:\apache2triad\php\pear\Config.php on line 43

I googled this and found that the problem is most likely caused by the fact that the class config is declared more than once. I searched through all the files to see where it was declared but without success...

So I read this posting in another forum: Nuke Forums dot com...

Hmmm don't like the sound of that solution but what the dooohickey.... I gave it a try. I commented out the whole class called config in the file \php\pear\Config.php and zappo it works.

I am not too sure that this is the best way to go.
