Hello,

I was wondering if it was possible to allow certain members to certain modules... For example, I want members to be able to go to the downloads module only if they have higher than 50 forum posts.

and if member lower than 50, show message "sorry, but you don't have the required posts to enter" or something like that.

Is this possible? could someone show me how? thanks Rolling Eyes

The problem with this is it insights forum spam. Therefor you also have to counter-act it also, because you can't watch your forum 24/7 to stop spammers.

There is really no way to combat forum spam from registered users. Its the simple reason I went with points here.

How about you make it so that only members that are in a particular group (50 or more points) are allowed to access the module.

You can set this up in the following admin areas:

User Group/Points

Modules Admin

In the User Group/Points make a group called members/download allowed or w/e and set the point's to 50

Then in the modules admin edit the downloads so that only that group (as detailed above) and above can access that area.

As regards to the message have a look at your language/lang_english file, there should be something in there regarding not being part of a certain group, MOD that to the way you want it.

I have done the same thing on my site... I have not had any problems with members above the points gaining access, and yes members with lower points (below 100 in my case I think) cannot gain access.
