First Time here awesome site ( Thumbs up ) 8)

I have a couple Question if someone would be so kind to answer.

Back in the day we used Nuke Sentinel to secure our sites, I made a phpnuke website for a friend of mine using phpnuke 8.2.4 recently.

Are they sill using nuke sentinel to secure the sites?

If so what version of nuke sentinal would I use with the phpnuke 8.2?

If not what are they using now days.

Personally, we recommend you using RavenNuke or Nuke Evolution Xtreme. Even with Sentinel, your "phpnuke" site is still un-secure. RavenNuke and Evo have over 10,000 fixes over basic Phpnuke.

RavenNuke is the closest to phpnuke

Nuke Evo Extreme comes with a ton of Mods, Modules, and blocks pre-added and is best for clan websites.

Thanks DreAdeDcoRpSE for the quick reply.
Unforchantly I have phpnuke up and running and I will definitely use Evo or Raven next time around knowing what you just told me. But for now I'm going to have to deal with the phpnuke I have installed. I have found a sentinel download that states:

REQUIREMENTS:
- While NukeSentinel(tm) runs with PHP-Nuke 7.7/7.8 it is recommended that you use 7.6

ver. 8.24

Can I use this with my istalled version of nuke?

I have everything back up publichtml folder and database, but it just time consumer if it doesn't work hope you understand.

It may or may not. I don't know anyone that uses phpnuke 8 because of the issues with it. You can try it and if it don't work, then you will have the back up's.

Is the phpnuke site a fresh install? If it is, then why not change? It seems you want a secured site for your customer, yet you don't. See what I am getting at. Sentinel will protect against so much, but security holes it will not protect from.

Well, maybe Noto, Floppy or Ped can say if it will work or not.

I would stay away from standard nuke. phpnuke 8 is very much different from 7.6, 7.6 was the last decent build thats why most other nuke variants started off as 7.6

I dont know if Sentinel would work on the latest standard, becuase we all stay well clear of it lol.

I had a lengthy discussion with my friends and the security was the biggest issue for them. I told them that I have talked with you guys. That you suggested to start all over with Nuke Evo Xtreme and he agreed also. So basically im going to start all over with what you suggested for us. I see there is a Nuke Evo Xtreme 2.0.9 out but just in upgrade form right or would you like me to download 2.0.8?

This is a new nuke platform for me and I'm hoping you will help me out with any problems that may arise.

Security should always be paramout... no point having an amaizing site for it to be taken down and all your files deleted of your server, ive had it happen to me, and leant by my mistakes... so for me security comes first.

Always always make regular backups of your database and site

I downloaded Evo Xtreme and uploaded threw via FTP, Watch the install video Ipower doen't support compressed files so I had to load them by opening root folder and select all. This morning I got up and started the new Database. I made the new data base and check to see if I had full permissions witch I did everything was checked. I looked in the config.php file and the install.php did write to the config file. This is what I get now when installing the DataBase

I go to mysite/install.php

Step 1: Good

Step 2: missing 2 .access files

Step 3
Config.php generated Successfully.
Data validation and SQL Server Checks completed succsesfully!

step 4
Server Check
Your Session Data was lost, please run install again.

Any ideas what going on i have tryed 10 time to load the data base and same error.
