The most common resolution on the internet is still 1024x768 with 16.71% and closely followed by 1366x768 with 16.04%

No, its just nice to know what the average gamer uses, if the majority have higher res than 1024x*** we can make our themes for them and not the 1024 standards that we are using today.

I just looked on http://www.screen-resolution.com/ and it says that 20% of people still use 1024x768. I am aware that the majority of gamers use larger screens in fact I would say the best place to get stats from would be Steam, so thats where I went, stats as @ December 2011

1152 x 864 = 0.82%

1280 x 720 = 0.71%

1280 x 768 = 0.67%

1280 x 800 = 4.53%

1280 x 960 = 0.87%

1280 x 1024 = 11.05%

1360 x 768 = 1.44%

1366 x 768 = 6.25%

1440 x 900 = 8.93%

1600 x 900 = 4.41%

1600 x 1200 = 0.85%

1680 x 1050 = 17.59%

1920 x 1080 = 7.77%

2560 x 1440 = 0.78%

Other = 4.50%

As you can see gamers do like big screens, however 4% is still a lot of people using 1024 considering steam has over 40 MILLION users that's 160,000 screens..

Whilst I would love to make slightly wider themes, you will always get someone complaining !! lmao Kiss

can't vote either... My previous post was made from my smartphone and didnt exactely know what screen res i was using...

My standard screen res back @ home = 1440 x 900 (so sign me up for that)

Good thinking on consulting steam stats on this matter ped ;) however there's still a lot of games left out for people who don't use steam (and I can think of a few people who will never want to use steam if they can help it)

Perhaps battle.net provides such a stat tracker aswell, which might be worth looking into...

as for my school's screen res... well that's hopeless...
