Post Clanlist module signiture Posted: Sun Jan 01, 2012 7:33 pm

I can't edit my signature that comes with the OFx ClanList module, I can modify the settings, but the changes don't show. How do I get rid of the signatures period, signatures from the module.

I didn't install the signatures, also, someone installed the module for me Sad , so my assumption, the person who installed the module for me knows what you mean because I don't and I apologize for my ignorance

well what Dre was saying was indeed correct, Perhaps you can tell the one who installed the module for you the same thing Dre did. If not you might want to ask Dre or some1 else here from Clanthemes.com to do it for you

If you can't figure out how to work with Dre's instructions you could make a temporary super user on your website and let either Dre or me do it, FTP info will be required indeed.

I suggest you try to crack it yourself before giving out FTP info just like that though ;)

You wouldn't need "Super Admin" access, its just a matter of removing some files, maybe 1 or 2 edits top. Heck, just removing the old files and uploading fresh module would work also, (Not needing to remove the tables).

Super admin is only needed if you need to get in and do anything with in the admin section like configuring. Also one thing I recommend to everyone is look into remote support rather then giving out passwords. I am not trying to put you out there actnreactgaming, but personally I don't know you, but you should be able to understand for security issues, handing out info like that can be dangerous and is recommended that nobody ever do it.

I personally remote access where I can so people don't have to give me access into there web data and also so they can see what I do and learn at the same time. But of course, there are situations where that wont work and the info is passed, but even then, I recommend that its only given to staff here at CT. The staff here have been with the community for years and have shown the professionalism, and the trust that is needed.

Again, this was not a personal attack towards you for your not the only one that has done it nor will be the last. This is also not the first time I have said it and nor will be the last, its just always good to re-post it time to time.

Remote access as in teamviewer? And it looks like I'm gonna need help, I only installed one module on my own in the past and I've transferred webhosts at least 3 times since then. But yeah., I don't plan on installing anymore modules, I got everything I need, except maybe a clan war module. But how should I go about this situation?

Teamviewer is one way of doing it. I do use a program lately called Ammyy Admin.

Best way for you to go is probably re-install the module, which is not hard, take 2 min to do it, you don't need to any DB changes since you already have it, its would be just a matter of overwriting with fresh files that don't have that signature addition to it.

So I just log into FTP and replace the clanlist folder inside the modules folder with the downloaded clanlist folder you gave me?

no offence taken Dre,

Yes Teamviewer would indeed be one way to go, but your last post indeed covers about it what the actions should take (as far as I understand). I haven't used this module myself in the past so I wouldn't know exactely, thats why I said that FTP info would be required.

I might give a look into that Ammy Admin you just mentioned, perhaps its a good one ;)
