Post Lightbox for phpnuke Posted: Fri Nov 04, 2011 11:12 pm

Hi,

I write you because I would like to show my news and reviews images larger in a window (not in another page) with a close button when an user click on it.

I've read a several threads about it at this forum an others solutions like this: http://dribibu.xs4all.nl/article-229--0-0.html

But all the solutions don't work for me and I'm desperate. When I do those changes and I click on the image appears a new page with the image, but not the lightbox (or other) effect.

My version is PHPNuke 7.9 and I would be grateful if you can help me.

If you need more information or files, say to me, please.

Thanks in advance.

Shop Purchases:
Enemy Territory Theme (Aviator) for PHP Nuke · Clan Roster 2.0 ·  · Modern Warfare 3 Xtreme Theme

You can do what I did and that was implement lytebox effect onto my site. When I do the news, I need to use HTML coding and with a simple command I can create a image effect. Here, Click this link and you will see it in action, if you wait for the page to load, then click on any of the images, you will see.

http://www.headshotdomain.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2

To use, its a matter of editing one line, and then when you do the image coding in HTML, you add a simple line and that's it.

First, Go here and download the file:
http://lytebox.com/index.php

Upload the content of the compressed file into the ROOT of your site.

Then, open your public_html/header.php and find

Code:
echo "<head>\n";

It may not be exact, but you want to find that, once you find that, after it you may have a few meat lines like this, you may not,

Code:
    echo '<meta http-equiv="Content-Script-Type" content="text/javascript" />';

   echo '<meta http-equiv="Content-Style-Type" content="text/css" />';

   echo '<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />';

If you have those lines, then add this line after it, if not, then after the first code I showed you above, It has to be after the HEAD code.

Code:
 echo '<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="lytebox.js"></script>

<link rel="stylesheet" href="lytebox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />';

Once you do that, the way you would use it on your site is if you create a block, module, new's article where you can edit the "HTML", then you will do the image tags like this.

Code:
<a href="images/image.jpg" rel="lytebox"><img src="images/image.jpg" width="200px"></a>

That's it. It should work. I use a mix match of Lytebox, and lightbox on my site but they are pretty much the same thing. You can also implement this into your forums also if you decide to do so.

If you want to implement hillslide or lightbox or what ever you use into your forums, as in using it with the the bbcode to make is to any image that is larger then Xpx wide and Xpx high, it will use the lightbox, All you have to do is:

Open public_html/themes/YOUR_THEME/forums/bbcode.tpl

Find the line:
<!-- BEGIN img -->

and you can figure out the rest, its all right there.

An example of what I have is as follows.
Code:
<!-- BEGIN img --><a href="{URL}" rel="lightbox[MOD]"><img src="{URL}" border="0" alt="" style="width:450px"/></a><!-- END img -->

but you may do something different, that is just an example. Just to let you know that if you do, do this, then it will make all images including signatures a max width of 450px or what ever you set it at.

Hi,

Thanks for your help, but I've followed your steps and it doesn't work for me Sad The result when I click on the image is the image in a white page with other size.

My code without the addons is the following:

function head() {
global $slogan, $sitename, $banners, $nukeurl, $Version_Num, $artpage, $topic, $hlpfile, $user, $hr, $theme, $cookie, $bgcolor1, $bgcolor2, $bgcolor3, $bgcolor4, $textcolor1, $textcolor2, $forumpage, $adminpage, $userpage, $pagetitle;
$ThemeSel = get_theme();
include_once("themes/$ThemeSel/theme.php");
echo "<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN\">\n";
echo "<html>\n";
echo "<head>\n";
echo "<title>$sitename $pagetitle</title>\n";
include("includes/meta.php");
include("includes/javascript.php");
if (file_exists("themes/$ThemeSel/images/favicon.ico")) {
echo "<link REL=\"shortcut icon\" HREF=\"themes/$ThemeSel/images/favicon.ico\" TYPE=\"image/x-icon\">\n";
}
echo "<link rel=\"alternate\" type=\"application/rss+xml\" title=\"RSS\" href=\"backend.php\">\n";
echo "<LINK REL=\"StyleSheet\" HREF=\"themes/$ThemeSel/style/style.css\" TYPE=\"text/css\">\n\n\n";
if (file_exists("includes/custom_files/custom_head.php")) {
include_once("includes/custom_files/custom_head.php");
}
echo "\n\n\n</head>\n\n";
if (file_exists("includes/custom_files/custom_header.php")) {
include_once("includes/custom_files/custom_header.php");
}

I don't know if I have a javascript problem (I have a problem with banners ads with flash or javascript code, too) or not.

What can I do?

Thanks in advance.

I think I see what I mess up on. On the last edit, change the class="lytebox" that you would put in the URL for the image and change it to rel="lytebox"

I already edited my first post. I just tested this on my site and it works 100%.

I continue with the problem Sad I've write the new url as you say me and I've done all the possible combinations with the code:

function head() {
global $slogan, $sitename, $banners, $nukeurl, $Version_Num, $artpage, $topic, $hlpfile, $user, $hr, $theme, $cookie, $bgcolor1, $bgcolor2, $bgcolor3, $bgcolor4, $textcolor1, $textcolor2, $forumpage, $adminpage, $userpage, $pagetitle;
$ThemeSel = get_theme();
include_once("themes/$ThemeSel/theme.php");
echo "<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN\">\n";
echo "<html>\n";
echo "<head>\n";
echo '<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="lytebox.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="lytebox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />';
echo "<title>$sitename $pagetitle</title>\n";
include("includes/meta.php");
include("includes/javascript.php");
if (file_exists("themes/$ThemeSel/images/favicon.ico")) {
echo "<link REL=\"shortcut icon\" HREF=\"themes/$ThemeSel/images/favicon.ico\" TYPE=\"image/x-icon\">\n";
}
echo "<link rel=\"alternate\" type=\"application/rss+xml\" title=\"RSS\" href=\"backend.php\">\n";
echo "<LINK REL=\"StyleSheet\" HREF=\"themes/$ThemeSel/style/style.css\" TYPE=\"text/css\">\n\n\n";
if (file_exists("includes/custom_files/custom_head.php")) {
include_once("includes/custom_files/custom_head.php");
}
echo "\n\n\n</head>\n\n";
if (file_exists("includes/custom_files/custom_header.php")) {
include_once("includes/custom_files/custom_header.php");
}

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

function head() {

}
echo "\n\n\n</head>\n\n";
if (file_exists("includes/custom_files/custom_header.php")) {
include_once("includes/custom_files/custom_header.php");
}

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It doesn't work with the three combinations. I have tried to change the utf-8 by my charset (I'm from Spain and mi site is in spanish), but the result is the same. When I click on the image, it appears in the same page with another size and without anything more (the rest of the page in white colour).

Do you have another solution? Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry for the delay, but I had connection problems with my supplier.

My site is fully loading before clicking on the image, there's no problem with this.

My site is the following one:

http://www.lamazmorraabandon.com

And I attach my file as you suggest me.

Thanks in advance.

I noticed nobody made a point out of this just yet, so I will Nerd I would strongly suggest you upgrading your cms to either ravens php nuke or the extreme teams one. Php nuke 7.9 its old at best, hopelessly outdated at worst. This is merely an advice to keep your websites security up to date.

Best regards,

I use PHP Nuke 7.9 but I have installed a lot of patches. So, is more secure than a newer version without those patches. If I update the PHP Nuke version I would lose the changes and patches installed and I don't know how to install again.
