and another post, i know u must get sick of me asking for all this help constantly *sigh* but here it goes. im trying to make a sideblock thats like the search block that comes with nuke except i want it to beable to search more than one thing, way i want it layed out is to have a text input box, a search button under it and then on top of the text input a drop down box with the various selections that u can search. is their an easy way to go about doing this? im not asking someone to do all the work and build it for me, but just give me some pointers and tell me how i would go about doing this. i managed to create a block that searches another site, but i havnt been able to have it do multiple things.

This is kinda easy, in concept. So lets work on that.

First you have an input box lets call it the query. (from now own it will be know as $query or $_POST['query'];)

Then you have a drop down list lets just use some simple idea's here
google
yahoo
msn

Last an submit button

The following isn't actual code, but it should give you an idea of how this done.

if($mysearch == "google"){
header ("location: http://www.google.com/page=search&query=$_POST[query]");
}elseif($mysearch == "yahoo"){
header ("location: http://www.yahoo.com/page=search&query=$_POST[query]");
}else{
header ("location: http://www.msn.com/page=search&query=$_POST[query]");
}

Using header would forward them to that page. Some other techniques could be used to keep them actually on your site, but like I said thats simply concept thought.

ok my frustration has reached its limit, my extremly limited knowledge of php has driven me into a brick wall in trying to make this myself, how much would someone charge me to make side block for me? simple drop down box to select what search engine to search an input box and a search button should be simple enough.
