We seem to be having a few problems with our sister site www.phpnukedownloads.com

Sometimes it works sometimes it does not, it was working and then we moved server and we are trying to find out why it keeps linking to cpanel

Can you test these few links to see what response you get and let us know if its working please.

You need to check your dns server. If the dns resolver isn't updating you will have this issue. One think you might also try locally on your pc to make sure that you are going to see the site on the server faster is to follow these 2 steps.

1. Open the windows command prompt. Type in ipconfig /flushdns

2. Go to C:\ Windows \ System 32 \ Drivers \ etc and open the hosts file. Make sure you open it with full admin right on the pc. Add a line with the server ip then the domain name. Something like this.

555.123.456.78 yourdomain.com

Save the file. Flush the dns again and depending on the operating system your running you may need to restart the pc after you edit the hosts file.

The only things that really cause the pages your getting are dns errors or the apache is setup wrong. If you guys need any help, I would be glad to help in any way I can. As you know I do run a hosting company and know how to setup and configure the servers.

Hey killigan, thanks for the kind offer

We are hosted with SLHost they have been super, I have a ticket open with them ATM and im trying to get to the bottom of this issue as its been on and off since we moved server, CT has been just fine, just PND is playing about a little.

I flushed the DNS last week and it didn't do nothing, I will try again later tonight and I will add the info to the my hosts file. (surely this will only work on my computer though ?)

I'm presuming that you could not view the site either then ?

No, i couldn't view the site. However, adding things to your host file will only help you. It just helps you resolve the dns locally faster than waiting for the internet to catch up with the nameserver ip's.

I have personally seen more lag lately on this site though. Mostly only when going through the forums. It used to load when I clicked a thread and now I have to wait a little longer. Today, however, seems to be like normal.

EDIT: The forum seemed to load fine but when I first submitted my post just now it took almost 30 seconds before it finally posted. Not sure if anyone else is having slower than normal issues on this site, but I thought i would let you know that I am. I have tested my net speed and pinged your server which seems to be fine at 56ms. With a site like this and your PND you might check the memory_limit in the php.ini and if its set to the default of 32Mb change it to 128 which would help with speed on high traffic forums. It just allows your scripts to use more memory which in turn speeds them up a little bit.

We had to change the memory limit to summit like 256 when we moved server, we were getting errors from the forums lol

I have seen a decrease in speed but only slightly, we managed to cut our hosting bill by less than half from $150 a month down to approx $70 so for the cost saving we cant expect to have the same results.

If business picks back up we can always increase the package again but for now its more than justified.

Yes those are working now.

When you moved your site did you copy all of the files in the public_html folder or just move your files related to PND? I have seen people move everything before and have this problem.

I can't imagine the site is a huge file size. My suggestion would be to back it up, and delete the entire site from the server. Then recreate it and upload your files (only the files related to your site) then import the database. To make things easier, make sure the username and passwords are the same as you used before and your sql can be setup with the same info as whats in your config. i would say you will see things working correctly. Again, if you need any help with this I can help you through a live video conference and help you get it going.
