Post Ct_rn themes on nuke 8.0 Posted: Sun Mar 13, 2011 3:22 am

Hey Guys..

Love your work.

Have been trying to get CT_RN_GREYSCALE and CT_RN_BLACK to work on a Standard Nuke 8 site. But everytime I load one up, it fails ?? Site becomes un available.

Any suggestions on a fix, or am I doing something wrong ??

SITE: www.clanx.com.au

Cheers,

Jasper

Shop Purchases:
Enemy Territory Theme (Aviator) for PHP Nuke · Clan Roster 2.0 ·  · Modern Warfare 3 Xtreme Theme

Sounds like your uploading them wrong. But I cant tell for I am not there watching you. Other then that Ped will have to help you. The only thing I would say is get rid of phpnuke 8.0 and use something more secured like RavenNuke or Nuke Evo Extreme.

Post Ct_rn themes on nuke 8.0 Posted: Sun Mar 13, 2011 3:00 pm

Thanx for your reply..

Yeh I am wanting to upgrade to Xtreme, they have been a great bunch of guys helping me with another site.. and I love Xtreme.

I am quite used to uploading and modding themes, but I have had this prob with all the CT_RN themes, which leads me to think there is something diff with them..

One other question, do you know of any good tutorials about upgrading from Nuke 8 ?

I really do not want to loose my Users an Forum Data.. or any of the data really LOL.

Cheers,

Jasper

I don't know of any upgrade tutorials. When I did it to my site, there was a basic text tutorial. With you have Nuke 8.0, I do know the instructions will have you downgrade to nuke 7.6 before moving. I have ported a few sites in the past but it always turned out to be a huge pain. That's why when I did my site, I ended up just doing a fresh install and ported over my nuke users and that was it. All forum post, all blocks and modules were lost.

To port over Xtreme system, I do recommend asking them over there if they have any tutorials for it would be there system your porting to.

Thanx DreAdeDcoRpSE,

I have left a post there about a week ago, regarding upgrading, but still no replies .

I do not mind loosing modules etc, as most can be replaced over time, but loosing Forums Data, does concern me. And some of the themes... as there has been some work involved there..

One quick question, how did you "port" over your users, I cannot find any DB backup function in PHPMYADMIN ?

Anyhoo, lets see what the future brings :)

Cheers,

Jasper

as for backing up a database, its really easy. There is no button for backing up so to say, its called "exporting".

Me personally would backup everything. To me its best to make a back up
then if I were you, , I would go about setting up your new site in a sub folder and keep your main site online till you get the new one done, once you do that then go about moving your new site to the same level as your main site and renaming your main site to something like public_html.BAK and your new site would become the public_html.

Sounds more confusing then it actually is. By doing it this way. Your site remains active and if you mess up, then your not affecting your main site in any way.

I know all to well about not wanting to loose the forums info and the members info. I was in the same boat years back. But starting fresh to me was the best thing I ever did, though it took a long time and hard work to get the info back up to par and users list to build, it eventually did. What made it harder for my users was in a span of 3 years, they had to register 3 times and I hated asking them to do it again. Well, I learned from my experience and try having people not make the same mistakes I did.

Hey JAsper

unfortunatly they werent made to wrk on crappy standard nuke

lol

The names give it away

CT_RN_GREYSCALE and CT_RN_BLACK

ClanThemes_RavensNuke_GREYSCALE and ClanThemes_RavensNuke_BLACK

They will work on Stadnard Nuke with some tweeks to the theme.php I suggest you turn error reporting on in yoursite.com/config.php to see what errors are being thrown out by the theme

Thanx for your help Guys..

I have only just done the www.clanx.com.au site, I should have done some more research as it had been over 4 years since I had done a CMS site LOL, so I did the Nuke thing as I felt comfortable with it.

I agree a total upgrade is what is needed, will have a go at it soon.

BTW love your work here @ Clan Themes... And, if I get www.clanx.com.au upto a newer version, maybe xtreme, I will be looking at one of your Platnum Themes.

Maybe I shoul dbe looking at one of the other flavours of Nuke ?

Anyhoo, thanx once again, your responses and help has been very valuable..

Cheers,

Jasper

Platinum is another CMS and wont work on a Extreme Evo site. If you go with an Extreme site the you must use Extreme theme. Most themes here have been or could be ported to Extreme.
