Im wondering if anyone does really detailed Intros? Im interested something thats epic for a multigaming FPS community and would like to see some working intro's if anyone has any links of their work.

But cant seem to find anything gaming related. Are many people even using flash intros anymore? I assume the novelty would wear off watching the same thing over and over again... unless it could have the ability to change things up on it on the fly... though I dont believe thats possible.

Im not very imaginative when it comes to things like this.. about the only thing popping is this epic song playing ... (contains profanity so make sure if ya have kids they aint listening lol)

The new way to make intros these days is using Adobe After Effects, older methods used to be using Adobe Flash

be a lot cheaper to buy a pre made one and edit it to your needs

I'm sure that Christian Intro cost well over a grande. There are a lot of things to consider when looking at having an into, cost, imagery, load time, just to name a few.

I've done intros before but they are a problem to the end user, it's always one more click away to get to your website. People get tired of being "one more click away" and rarely do they ever finish watching the intro after the first couple of times.

A flash is nice but you're probably better off without one.

Very expensive yeah, the amount of time that goes into them is hours upon hours I can imagine the Christian Into costed 1000+ easily

If I was going to have a flash intro I would stick with these simple rules

1) KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid
2) Always have a Skip Intro link
3) Keep it short, the less a movie or intro the better, "Flash a Bang and a Wallop" and your into the main site, under 10 seconds is perfect.
4) If using audio have the option to turn it off

All in all Intros are defiantly over rated, and if done wrong can and will turn visitors away, in a matter of seconds

that one there you would need a program to make the splash. those are just files to help you make it using Adobe After Effects.

If you grab a pre-made Intro just edit it with whatever program it coincides with. If it's flash based then use Adobe Flash and so on. I don't have experience with After Effects so I can't say what to use there. Just know there are a number of programs out there that can assist you in creating or editing an intro.

2ndly, edit your htaccess file to have it find the proper index file first. It's set up to see the index.php file before the index.html file. You'll need to reverse these.

I would have the intro pics go into it's own directory and then to an images folder. Don't risk the chance of overwriting any images even tho its unlikely to occur.

What kind of picture or pictures were you thinking of using? What type of gaming theme are you concidering? I did see a couple of nice intros here on this website.

The one I linked to uses Adobe After Effects, its not flash based there movies / videos and can be saved in any movie format / flash format

As the other have said some one has done the hard work for you, you buy the regular licence version and edit it on After Effects

I have a licensed copy of After Effects, but TBH im a novice at it, I really do need to start learning it
