Post Advanced forum sidebar Posted: Sat Apr 14, 2007 10:19 am

i just dl the advanced forum scrolling sidebar from this site, and i was wondering since i dont use the forums built into phpnuke, "although still use phpbb" if i could modify this sideblock to work with my other forums, "they were up and running before i got the phpnuke site up" another reason i cant use the built in phpnuke forums is i already completly messed them up. Dont Know would be very helpfull thanks. heres my site, www.glitchgaming.net , and heres my forums, www.glitchgaming.net/forum

Shop Purchases:
Clan Roster 2.0 · Bad Company 2 Vietnam Xtreme Theme

you might be in luck

i suggest you do major backups of BOTH sites before messing around but there is a phpbb to php nuke converter

http://www.clan-themes.co.uk/downloaddetails-11-136-PHPBB_To_PHP_Nuke.html#dldetails

ive not personally tested this thats why i say make backups !

thanks, but this isnt going to work for me seeing as my phpnuke and my phpbb databases arent in the same database, plus i already broke my phpnuke forums on accident cause i thought that just making a backup of my phpbb forum database and then restoring my phpnuke forums database with that backup would work Crying now its just all messed up. as u can tell, i have never done anything like this before all i realy need is a sidebar like the one i dl but to make it work with phpbb forums instead of the ones integrated into nuke. i have looked around but as im inexperienced in these type of things, i have come up empty handed.

What version of phpbb are you using. I read something. I might be able to help. As far as the nuke forums, you can simply go to your original nuke download and replace the forum files with the original files in html/modules/Forums/ or the similar path for your distro. This is assuming you haven't done anything with your nuke forums. Otherwise, let me see the error you get in your nuke forums and I can look better into what file(s) you need to replace to get it back up.

This is reminding me that I need to really get on that video tut for backing up nuke and sql. As soon as I get a day off from work I will be working on that fo sho.

Reminder to EVERYONE. Before you even change one bit f code, upload anything, install anything, whatever--- no matter HOW EASY IT LOOKS--- back up your nuke db and your sql db. Even if you change ONE LINE OF CODE!!! Backtracking through what you did is much easier and gives you less tears if you can simply restore what you had and try again. Trust me. I have remade my site at least 5 times from the ground up. I have lost active users as a result.

Point is --- Don't be a Shixter! (Well a past Shixter) LMAO

im using phpbb version 2.0.20 believe, it says my installations up to date i just used the bbtonuke patches to get my nuke forums up to date, even though their still broken ill ss what happens when i click the forum index button. and i believe what the problem is that i think i read that the phpbb database and the nukeforums use different structures so when i imported my phpbb backup into the nuke forums it just messed everything up.

Did you not back up your forum in the forum admin panel? That might have save you some irritation. You might try restoring the sql tables concerning the forum.

Battlefield 2142 PhpNuke Theme (Aviator) · Clan Roster v1.7 Php Nuke Module · Battlefield 2142 X-Theme (Ultimate)

I think that might be a bug trancidix, about the posts not showing up.

since I installed nuke I've never been able to get the forum posts to relay to the forum scroll block. noboody on raven nuke or codewiz has been able to come up with a fix.

cheers mate that would be nice!

here's the thread on codewiz about it: http://www.codezwiz.com/ftopict-11515-.html

That was related to the codewiz mod "Scroll forums v3.0" but it affects every forum mod not just the one from his website. must be something with nuke?

If you are talking about that block that scrolls the most current posts in your forum, it is working fine on my site. http://shixter.com at the bottom.
