Post Remove left blocks and rights block on opening a module link Posted: Fri Aug 27, 2010 9:47 pm

Shop Purchases:
Modern Gamer Multi Theme

Having just inherited our clan website to update i have been trying to edit various parts of the site.

Im a bit stuck on when a link is used to open another module within the site itself.

Id like it to open with just the header not the left or right blocks.

I have a few links that have the left blocks

http://www.DOTskunkdogzDOTcom/modules.php?name=Memberrules

And some to the right

Is it possible for them to open into the same windows but not have the blocks either side?

This is the code from one of the custom block from the Modern Gamer theme that i edited.

This one opens with the header and the right blocks

<?php
if ( !defined('BLOCK_FILE') ) {
Header('Location: ../index.php');
die();
}

$link = "modules.php?name=vwar&file=joinus"; //add your prefered link between the " and "

$content = "<div style='text-align:center'><a href='$link' target='_self' rel='nofollow'><img src='themes/Modern_Gamer/images/joinus.gif' alt='Join Us Today !' /></a></div>";

?>

Oh and im a novice with this stuff Confused

The code you posted is a block, blocks go down either the left or right hand of yoursite.

A page is called a module

So you want to turn of the blocks (left + right) when viewing a module (page)

To turn the right blocks of we need to edit the module index.php

To turn the left blocks of we need to modify the themes theme.php

Let me know what version of PHPNuke you are using first, because different versions of PHPNuke have diffrent ways of controlling the blocks, for example in Evo Xtreme you can turn the blocks of on a module via the admin area ! but in PNC you would need to edit some code as stated above.

I missed this one !!

That link will tell you how to turn the left blocks via editing the theme.php of your respective theme...

To turn of the right blocks in PNC you will have to open up the respective module you want to turn the right blocks and look for this code

Code:
$index = 1;

Just change the 1 to 0 or comment out the code all together with a // in front like so

Code:
//$index = 1;

For patched versions of Nuke, some modules will use the following code instead, which will do the same thing

Code:
define('INDEX_FILE', true);

You can try changing the true to false or again just comment it out like so

Code:
//define('INDEX_FILE', true);

Both of those methods will remove the right blocks for you Love
