Post Maxwidth css workaround for ie much needed. Posted: Wed Jul 28, 2010 3:35 am

Howdy,

I'm able to successfully use maxwidth to set the max page width (for my theme) for all the other browsers BUT IE. Evidently IE doesn't play well with all CSS as I've given myself a headache reading. What I really need is a solution that works for all browsers. This is what I'm currently using.

Code:
BODY { FONT-SIZE: 12px; CURSOR: default; color: #D2D5F2; FONT-FAMILY: arial, helvetica, verdana, sans-serif; TEXT-DECORATION: none; background-color: #3e424d; width:1024px; margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto; }

And that works fine for FF, Chrome, Opera just not IE.

In phpnuke the themes width is normaly set with its header and footer.

find your header table/div ect.. and set the width you want then align it center. do the same with your footer.

Yea with a normal theme one would think so but not this one. Shy of recoding the entire thing I was hoping for a miracle of sorts in an idea but so far nothin.

Shop Purchases:
Clan Roster 2.0 · Bad Company 2 Vietnam Xtreme Theme

You could try making a new class, add this to your style.css

Code:

.themewidth{
width:1024px!important;
}

Then add this new class to your themes header on the open table

Code:
<table style="themewidth"

I would really have to take a peek at how your theme is coded to sort it out correctly but that's just 1 example
