Enemy Territory Theme (Aviator) for PHP Nuke

Hey guys (Heefy), I just got the ETQW Aviator theme template and I don't know to administer the template. I have it posted on a webserver and I'm basically stuck form there. I generally use Dreamweaver for authoring my sites. I'm not a completely new to setting up php and getting it to talk to an sql server. I set this one up a few times.. fpsclans.com However, I need a little bit more info. I thought there would be better install instructions included with the template.

Such as, is the themes.php the site index?

Are there any basic instructions as far as setting up a php.ini file?

Are there any tools you could point me too?

Thanks Jay

Call of Duty 5 Bulletproof Theme

Ok for our benefit:

1. What version of nuke are you using?
2. Does the server has everything installed ready for a nuke installation, for example Mysql etc,.
3. How did you install you version of nuke was it done manually (via FTP) or via a control panel like cPanel or similar?
4. What do you see when you go to the site, because all I see is a html splash page.

answering some of the above will help us to help you.

Thanks

Heefy

Here are the instructions that are included in your theme.

Quote:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION INSTUCTIONS (QUICK START GUIDE)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
1. You should have downloaded two files in a compressed zip format:

xxxfolder1 - this contains the html folder and theme files. (xxx is used in place of your theme name)
xxxfolder2 - this contains the images folder and extras

Unzip or decompress both of these files to somewhere on your local system where you will easily be able to find them.

2. Find the folder called 'html' in xxxfolder1 and simply upload the contents of this folder into your nuke directory.

3. Once you have read and are happy with the conditions of use copy concerning the images that accompany this theme simply upload the 'images' folder and contents, from xxxfolder2, into the corresponding themes folder from the previous step eg;

/public_html/yoursite/themes/CODMXX

The contents of your (CODMXX) theme folder should looks similar to that below once installed:

forums (this is a folder)
images (this is a folder)
scripts (this is a folder)
style (this is a folder)
blockL.html
blockR.html
footer.html
header.html
story_home.html
story_page.html
tables.php
theme.php

4. Go to the admin>prefrences of your website and select your new theme from the drop down list and save your settings.

5. If your theme comes with Topic Icons, dont forget to copy the topic icons from xxxfolder2/Extras/topicicons to /public_html/yoursite/images/topics and set them up in admin/topics.

you can create your own topic icons from the PSD graphic provided. (If applicable)

6. Included in this distribution is a zip file called 'bbcode_box' Unzip this and follow the instructions to install it.

Right, I wasn't aware that nuke had to be installed. I thought it was just a term for php gaming sites or something. I can create mysql databases. I'll have to read more about what "nuke" is. The server provides a cpanel interface. (hostmonster.com) I threw the contents of the site temporarily to jaenguardia.com/fpsnetwork I'll have to call hostmonster when I get home or look into the cpanel options more carefully.

You guys are great. I'm enjoying learning about this technology.

Thanks Jay

Enemy Territory Theme (Aviator) for PHP Nuke

Thanks for the advice! I got PHP nuke installed and now I'm learning how to administer the site. Maybe you guys can save me a lot of reading...

Can you force a theme and remove the option to change it?

I've activated the forums, but I can't seem to find the Administrator Panel. Where is it?

I realize these are NUKE questions and not really related to the theme, I'm just hoping that some of you guys with experience can save me a lot of headache.

Thanks again
Jay

The easiest way to force a theme is to delete the rest of them, but if you install cnbya it also has that option.

The forums administration button is in the nuke admin panel. Look on the bottom section of icons.

Thanks for the fast response floppy. I'll have to look into cnbya, not sure what it is just yet. I may elect to purchase more themes and delete the other ones.

I see the forums administration icon but everytime I click it, it reads Sorry, too many page loads in so little time! It only happens when clicking that icon, nothing else. I went with Nuke 8.0 contrary to your suggestion. (I'm stubborn and always want the latest and greatest)

Thanks man, any help is always appreciated.

I downloaded and installed the teamspeak block. I confirmed my ip udp and query ports are correct through tsviewer. I still get the message

Sorry. I didn't quite get that right. Can you refresh the page?
Error number:
Error description:

this appears inside the ts block. Has anyone seen this before? No error codes are given.
