I didn't see your notice about PM'ing CT Staff until after my message was sent. I realize you might get more messages than you can handle and this fills your inbox. So please except my apology for not following the rules.

What lead me to message PED, was the fact I made a suggestion in this forum and didn't get a response. So like any customer, when you don't get an answer, you go looking for it. Regardless, this made me think of an alternative method for CT Staff to use for managing their Inboxes.

CT Staff should have an Out of Office or Auto Responder messaging system built in to the PM system. When a customer sends a PM to a Staff member, the customer gets a message automatically sent back stating a general response. Example would be:

Thanks for your message, but all support issues and theme questions are answered in the forums. Your message to me will not be read. Please post your questions or needs in the forums.

I think this feature would provide your Staff many benefits, but the customer service level would improve as a result (not that it is bad). In general, this would be a great script for gaming clans too. Clan Staff members always get questions about recruiting, member issues, and various things. This can be overwhelming at times and failure in providing feedback to a member can lead to unwanted results. General clan members would sue this script to let fellow members know their status. So if I plan to go on vacation, my fellow members can find out from my Out of Office response. Clan Staff would be able to ping their members and see if they have an Out of Office saved. This also leads to another option where the clan can use the script as a status tool. Members would have access to a list of all members that have Out of Office messages set up, so you can just go to one page and see who is on vacation.

I am not sure if a script like this already exists for nuke, but I have used sites where I do get auto responses when messaging staff.

I just did a search and the only one i could find was for phpbb3 none for phpbb2. that would be a cool script as well, But what if the admin asks you to PM them and you get that back in a PM lol you would be like WTF lol still i like that idea Pint

Ive been away the last 2 weekends and hate not being able to provide support, at least if they got an auto respond they would know that they will get a reply eventually and just have to hold tight a few more days.

I am making a Crysis 2 theme next BTW

This type of script has multiple possibilities. You could have specific rules for certain Usergroups that PM you, or a buddy list option for responses. At work I you MS Outlook and send different Out of Office messages to email addresses out of my corporate domain. Therefore co-workers get specific updates about my status and availability and clients get a general office hours type response.

I think I saw a script like this for Nuke Fusion. I will research and respond if I find anything.
