I thought I would start a new thread, I don't start new threads very often !

Anyway, after a little bit of thinking I thought I would put a list together of the different versions of CMS (Content Management Systems) for Clans to use; So ill get it started !

Please give a clear title of the CMS, the link to the CMS Download and a sentence about the CMS (not a paragraph)

Used to be the best of the best of CMS for clans, still is a good contender, with integrated vWar, Server viewers, map managers, vent + teamspeak viewers all ready to go, plagued by vWar security problems in the past let it slip in the past.

Clan Edition has built in Scoreboard, Clan Members and various other clan stuff, my only comment is all the sites look the same style of layout and design...and its very hard to theme.

- CCMS >> www.customcms.net
A paid for CMS @ $55, AND $20 every year thereafter !! based on a gaming platform has all the things you would expect to manage a clan, matches, forums but ive read everywhere that it is encoded so you could not make modifications or add to your site. Also themes look very very limited and stereotypical, I think you could get similar for free to be honest.

Very similar to the above CCMS but for free. Features Squads, Forums, Matches and lots more clan related and says its easy to theme as well.

Has everything a clan needs code wise, Clan Member, Matches, Servers, Downloads... only problem I can see is the lack of decent templates or themes..

Overall, I messed with Joomla for a bit and it was nice, but the themes were lacking and was not very strong for clans. a few other things I disliked about it was,

-User management system could be a lot better and easier to extend.
-duplicate content. Correctly set up self url's eliminates this problem
-Categories can only go two levels deep
-Limited roles and permission allowances
-Most modules cost you money
-URLs are not search engine friendly (there is a purchasable module)
-Out-of-the-box blogging functionality is mediocre

There are allot of good things but to me what it comes down to is that it is not very good for a "Clan" based site. As for there security of it, I am not positive.

Overall, this is all based on my opinion and others may feel differently, Overall, I don't like it and I will stick with what I like, which is Evo.
