Post Is there a way to add an edit line to the foums Posted: Wed Apr 07, 2010 9:20 am

I hope this is the right place to post this topic if not I didnt know where else to put it. I have two ? on our forums if we want to edit some one elses or own posts is there a way to add an option to show edited by and show who edited the post(s). We are using nuke evo version pro pack 2.0.7.. Also can you suggest anyway to incorporate our smiley pack on the board with our shoutbox instead of using the generic ones?

Shop Purchases:
Enemy Territory Theme (Aviator) for PHP Nuke · Clan Roster 2.0 ·  · Modern Warfare 3 Xtreme Theme

Not sure about your first question, but your second question is simple.

First, find the smileys you want, or have, you can find allot of smiley packs on phpbb's site or google. Once you have them, upload them to

www.YourSite.com/modules/Forums/images/smiles/

then go to your forums ACP. Once there, click on General Admin - Smileys and scroll to the bottom of the page, just under all the smiles. You will see the controls to take care of what you want.

Thanks for the info

These are the generic smileys with our shoutbox can we add the smiley pack to the shoutbox or can they only be used with the forums? I checked the acp the only options under general admin/smileys are Add a new smiley import smiley pack or create smiley pack

I believe the shout boxes use the smiles that are with the forums, well most do, if they have there own then if you can let me know which smiley pack you have then I can help.

As for adding new smiles and removing the old ones, you can do one of 2 things, you can rename the new images and overwrite the old images, which is what I did then you have to pick Add new Smiley in the forums ACP area I mentioned before, and go through the list of images and find the one you want in that drop down and enter in the code you want to make it. You can do anything from a simple
:){/code]

to
but you will need a new one for each one you add.

On phpbb site you may find some smiley packs that you might be able to upload and import. I know that's where I found most of the ones I am using. And if you make one like I have where it's a mix, once made you can create yours as a smiley pack from the forums admin area in the list there, it creates a .pak file which is another type of zip. we used them in gaming like 10 years ago to pack up our special mods we made for the game.

Tbh not sure what smiley pack came with the forums ill try ask the god admin and get back to you. This is the smiley pack I got from a google search to me they look like standard gif files Heres the link http://www.phpbb.com/styles/db/index.php?i=misc&mode=display&contrib_id=2649 our forum smilies are gif files to the best of my knowledge

Ok we have no idea what smiley pack came with the shoutbox we have different smilies for the forums does that help at all?

okay, the ones that are with the shout box are stored in this file path,

www.YourSite.com/images/blocks/shout_box/

and for finding smiles, you can look here, they have thousands of them, you can find the ones you want and rename them and renaming them to match the ones you want to replace

http://www.mysmiley.net/

I hope this helps a little. If you guys still run into trouble, get in touch with me through messenger and I will set you up so I can remote access you and show you how to do it. I have AIM, MSN, and Yahoo, but I also have XFire that is not shown there. If you want my XFire which I am on mostly then let me know and i will PM you my xfire name or PM me your XFire if you have it.
