Post Can't upload a file to the download module Posted: Wed Mar 31, 2010 7:18 pm

Can someone help me with this? Neither I (the admin) or any users can upload files to the Downloads section. I have the permissions set to 777 and upload size limit is 100MB. It shows a "URL" box but no way to attach the file to be uploaded. And the only way I can add a file to the Download module is to go into the phpMyAdmin and do it manually. I have included a screen shot of what I see when I try to add a file.
I have Nuke Evolution 2.0.7 installed.
Any help with this is appreciated!
Thanks
Deb

Shop Purchases:
Enemy Territory Theme (Aviator) for PHP Nuke · Clan Roster 2.0 ·  · Modern Warfare 3 Xtreme Theme

Open up your FTP and go into the root, see if you have a php.ini file in there. If so, Open it with notepad or word pad and press Ctrl + F and do a search for uploads,

Yo may find a section like this, this is pulled from mine.

Code:
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; File Uploads ;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

; Whether to allow HTTP file uploads.
file_uploads = On

; Temporary directory for HTTP uploaded files (will use system default if not
; specified).
;upload_tmp_dir =

; Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.
upload_max_filesize = 25M

You may need to change your max size to 25M because I think standard is 5M or 1M. If you don't have it, not really sure.

No I checked and I do not have a php.ini in the ftp, public_ftp. And I had already changed the root php.ini to 100MB.
But thanks for the reply

Call of Duty 4 SAS Theme

Yea you have to have the direct link for the download to work so "http://yoursite.com/files/test.zip" and when its clicked it will download.

And you could always give this one ago but i cant remember if it works on evo 207 it should do http://evolution-xtreme.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=15407#15407

ah, now I know what you talking about, sorry, the drugs I am on from my car wreck are messing with my head. The downloads system for Evo does not allow you to upload things to your site. You can use the Module called "uploads version 4.4".

The downloads / uploads functions has never really worked for any version of PHPNuke...

Ours at Clan Themes does, and that's simply because Floppy spent a week recoding it all...

Post Can't upload a file to the download module Posted: Tue Apr 06, 2010 5:11 pm

Thanks so much both of you for the responses!

I never realized that Evo did not allow uploads through the Download module.

So I guess the alternative for members to upload files would be either to email me the file and manually enter into phpmyadmin for them, or use an upload module, have that upload to the /files/ directory in the Download module, and then they would have to go back to the Download section, enter the info including the url of where it was uploaded to, and enter it that way?

Seems like a real pain. I have searched and not found any kind of enhanced Download module - maybe having them email me the file is the easiest for members after all. :(
Thanks again!
Deb

Why edit them in phpMyadmin?

In the ACP of the site, in the Downloads section, ( www.YourSite.com/admin.php?op=DLMain ), there you can add the info of the download, so all you need to do essentially is upload the file through FTP and add it in through the ACP.

But if you want them to be able to add there own, how about doing this, They can upload using this program that I suggested before, but if I were you, keep this limited to groups where the people in the groups are people you trust.

http://www.clanthemes.com/downloaddetails-71-1238-uploads-.html

Once uploaded they can get the link to there download. Then in the Downloads module, as a member, there should be a little button below the search box that says "ADD", click that, then they can pick the category that best suits there file, then they can submit it by using the URL that was given before. All you will need to do is approve each DL added.

Simple. If you need help setting this up and showing what I mean, let me know and I will connect to you through TeamViewer and I will assist you VIA remote connection.

Post Can't upload a file to the download module Posted: Sun Apr 18, 2010 6:25 pm

Hello again!
Okay - I have installed the Uploads module. And my members can upload files using that. And when anyone adds a download to the DL module it appears to be alright. I, as the admin, then have the message where there is a new submission waiting to be approved. I approve it and everything seems okay up to that point. But the download does not show on the website. And when I go into the database, the new file is not there. So the files that have been uploaded are in fact uploaded to the proper folder(s) but are not being written to the database (not even mine, as the admin). Any suggestions as to why?

I do have my php.ini set to allow uploads of 100M, also have set the max postdata size the same. Still unable to write to the database. If I want the files to show in the downloads section of my website I have to manually enter them into my database. I hope I have written this where it makes sense!

I have searched extensively for a solution and can't seem to find anything. Any and all suggestions are welcomed!
Thanks,
Deb

By any chance I can get on there, I don't want any passes or anything like that, possibly, if you have a XFire send me that and we can do this by remote assistance.
