ok i did what the install instructions said but cant get it to install this is what i get

The requested URL /install/ was not found on this server.

I have never installed or downloaded the gallery module but i would suggest making sure that the .php is at the end of the script also making sure the url path is correct to where you uploaded the install folder/file. Maybe someone that has installed it will know more but if you need help with it PM me and i can help you tomorrow
