Yes, and I have registration image but they can still register. They are not able to post now probably because the bots can't log in but they can still register. I am wondering if they are using a backdoor to register on the phpbb board but they can't log into nuke.

I am also having the same problem,

I have added the number code box onto register and login pages but that does not seem to help to much, When i go to the admin section of the Forums i have made sure that the following have been ticked.

Enable account activation = User

Enable Visual Confirmation = Yes
Requires users enter a code defined by an image when registering.

It has stopped a lot of bots as we was getting around 10 a day, Now it has dropped down to only 1 or 2 bots,

Is there any other settings i need to check or is there anything else i can do as these are killing my boards.

Just to add the nuke version is 7.9 and the phpbb board is fully up todate.

Overall, my opinion would be to drop 7.0 and go with either Nuke Evo Extreme 2.0 or RavenNuke. I used to have a Phpnuke 7.9 site till it got hacked. It has allot of holes in it. But after I got hacked I dropped and went with Evo and LOVED it ever since.

But again, you want to make sure Email Activations is selected. I don't remember where for its been years since I used phpnuke, so someone that has it may be able to comment on how to do it, but other then that I do recommend upgrading to Evo in my opinion, but RavenNuke is where most people go to because they can use there themes and modules and not have to restart.

Just do not upgrade to phpnuke 8.0. that is just a terrible idea for that is worse then what you have and I have seen people do it when we say upgrade. We only recommend RN and Evo for they both have much better security and is more up-to-date then phpnuke.

Ah ok Thank for the information,

Maybe i should look in to changing to a new format of nuke then, I guess i would have to go with Raven Nuke so i could still use the themes i have paid from this site, (I think it works like that)

but once again thanks for the information and i'll look into changing to the site version before it gets to busy and big.
