Hey guys. I want to buy the new Bad Company 2 theme. Problem is my current clan is using Platinum b.5 /.6? and the founder plans to move over to Platinum 76v5.0.2

I personally am interested in Raven Nuke and have heard good things, aslo the community is very active. So the problem I have run into is, either buy the Bad Company 2 theme for Raven nuke and then try to convert the old clan site(database and forums) from Platinum b.5 over to Raven Nuke.

Or ask Ped or someone to convert the Bad Company 2 theme over to Platinum b.5

Ultimately the question comes up; what are the pros and cons of Raven Nuke over Platinum, is one CMS more secure than the other? more options? stability? easier to customize? etc

I hope you guys can help me out Angel

P.S. I have experience only with Nuke Evolution

Go with raven nuke as all the help you could ever need is out there and all both here and raven nuke site extremly friendly and helpfull

You could install both first and see which one you like the most

Well, I've used Nuke-Evolution for a fair bit in the past. I installed a handful of modules, modules that are now standard for Evo-Extreme.
But what I don't enjoy so much about the Nuke-Evo structure, is the type of modules that do exist, some are not of a certain quality, and there aren't nearly as many to choose from compared to PHP nuke, and I never had any luck getting some one to convert normal PHP nuke modules for it.

I suppose things may be different now. I've always heard of security issues with normal PHP Nuke and Platinum anyway.

update// Nuke Platinum 76v5.0.2 seems to be the CMS that the clan founder whats to stick with, until Platinum Genesis? not sure when that will be.

Would converting the Bad Company 2 theme cost more?

Unfortunately you would be paying a premium price to have it converted to platinum 7.6 because you are about the only person/site in the entire web that is still using it lol

If there were 10 of you wanting it done then you could share the cost, but seen as there is only you wanting a platinum version, and I very much doubt I would get a single other person using platinum request it, you would be paying a high price because of that.

A full conversion takes just over a day, but not 2 full days more like a day and a half to be honest @ £45 a day looking at around £70 to convert it to platinum, like I said expensive

I doubt Platinum Genisis is going to arrive at all, that thing has been coming for the last 2 years now lol

7.6.b.5 got recalled due to security so users were left with a very security outdated 7.6.b.4 which is about 3+ years in need of an update.

I would make the move to a supported CMS, even Evo v2.07 is no longer supported by the developers, that leaves just Ravens Nuke and Evo Xtreme to pick from.

7.6.B.5.0.2 is updated with more modules and blocks you can see the progress from the new site http://www.platinumnuke.com/index.php which the old support staff now own and i believe that there is only one coder with them and he knows very basic stuff (i think) also killigan and lonestar from evo xtreme are helping them along the way. But saying that if you want to see what the real genesis looks like then head over to http://www.nukeplanet.com/index.php (loki's site) he was the dev on platinum and to be honest i hope he gets genesis done i would like to see it as a finished product.

I would tell your clan leader to go to ravennuke or evo xtreme both are fully supported and all the staff know how to solve a problem when one arises and they are just much more secure IMO

I find it funny that they say they don't support it yet when a security update comes with Evo Extreme and to to the core that Evo uses, they still put the security for it so I feel that they really have not stopped supporting it in the sense of security fixes, just updating it with new stuff. Evo Germany I believe took over the basic Evo updates.

I was reading a thread somewhere a while ago, cant remember where...

It was about the very issue of Evo v2.07 and still allowing people to download it now that Evo Germany has released v2.10

They were basicly saying that v2.07 is gone and the staff have gone, and that the site's download should be reverted to the Evo Germany site where users could get support if needed.

I kind of agree, but i know v2.07 is still one of the better versions of Nuke better than Platinum and Standard even if the site is dead.

Hey look guys, don't look at me or go all "OMGZ" in your head when I say platinum this or platinum that lol.
I don't want to use platinum anything. I want to use RavenNuke personally. I wanted to use it before I posted here. But the clan founder is already got it in his head that he wants to stay with Platinum. So unless there's a great database conversion script from Platinum to RavenNuke or Platinum to Evo-Extreme, then I only have so many options.

£70 is almost $115 Canadian, that would be too much for me unfortunately. I will see what I can find for conversions until I give up.

Thanks for every bodies help, much appreciated.
