Hi All,

Apologies for what may seem a noob question but i just cant find any answers anywhere.

I have setup my forums, i have setup group. i am however unable to setup the groups to have different access to different forums.

Eg

Forum A - Only Group 1 to have Full Access but Group B to View only

Forum B - Only Group 5 to have View Access and Admins have Full Access

Etc etc

I am not sure of the different group types, Open / Closed / Hidden i have selected Hidden for all of my groups.

I then go to the forum permissions and (as screenie below shows) i can add the level of permissions i want for each forum but none of the groups are listed? how am i to detirme what group and do what??

I hope this makes sense as im at my whitts end now........

In the forums ACP, You will see Groups Management, and Groups Permissions. You created the groups in the "Groups Management", and you have to edit what they can see or not see by selecting "Groups Permissions".

One thing I will stress and I have stressed to certian people, If you want hidden forums, in the forums admin, you have to edit the forums permissions and put them as "Private (Hidden)" and then in the groups permissions area, select the groups that you want to see it and allow it.

I may make a video tutorial for this, we will see.

Hi, thanks for your reply

I have been through and looked at what you have suggested but it still doesnt make sense or i have done something wrong.

I have been lookup up the group in group admin (screen attached)

I then lookup the group permissions, slect that group and can only let the group become a moderator (screenie attached) i do not want the group to be a moderator though i want to be able to say that goup can view but not post or view and post etc etc
