Hi fellas,
I recently downloaded and installed image upload v1.3 from your site. I am currently having 2 problems that I hope you can help me solve.
I am using Ravennuke 2.4.
The instructions are as follows;

Installation
1) Upload everything from the map Public_html to your root
2) CHMODD modules/Upload/images to 777
3) Import the sql data in your phpmyadmin
4) Activate the module
5) Go to the adminstration and change the settings (if needed)

I did all of the following in that exact order.
After I activate the module and go into my admin area, I have a new admin icon called Upload. When I select it, I get a http 500 error.

I believe the 2 problems are this.

1. Their is a doc folder that comes with this that has admin png images in it. The instructions leave out what to do with them. I tried to put them in the images folder but still no go.

The second problem is how to associate the new Mysql Db with the program? The instructions say nothing about this. Unless the way to connect the Db to the module is in the admin module settings that I cannot access.

Where it says to change permission, I only changed permission to 777 on the Image folder. NOT to the UPLOAD folder itself.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would scrap the idea of using this module it is a massive security risk and allows most file types to be uploaded including .php, This resulted in my site getting hacked within 3days of having the module activated.

I am still in need of a module that will allow my squadmates to upload screenshots to our website. It will be very restrictive to only registered squadmates that I put into a special group. With that said, which module would you recommend I use for this? If it is still the one I originally mentioned, can comeone help me out with it?

Thanks,
Express

make a group "clan members"
Set the module to groups only and then pick the group that you want "clan members"

http://www.clanthemes.com/downloaddetails-9-915-imagehost-25-phpnuke-module.html
looks very nice from the screenshot, never used it tho.

GROUPS.
In your nuke admin you will see a groups pic/button.
Code:
admin.php?op=NSNGroups
make a new group in there "clan members" or what ever. then add the member you want in the group to the group.
MODULE.
then go to your modules and click edit on you image module u will see (Who can View This?) set that to groups and then a new option below will apear, set the new option to the "clan members" group.
Click save then your done. test its all working after with a unregistered, normal nuke member and a group nuke member hopefully its all good.

What disro were you using ?
@ Express Listen to this as it is a reality, i would use a module that only alows images not all files and checks also for disguised images eg getimagesize() to validate the image file server side.
I dont think your get any problems with it set the group access as long as you keep the group to people you can trust and of course use
Raven and Sentinel. i cant comment on evo or any other package as i favour the use of ravens distro.
keep root and db backups just it case.

note: ive not looked inside any of these image hosting modules im just saying the one above looks very nice with them features.

For evo, I use Uploads 4.4 and I have had no security issues, I have it set up to groups as noto is stating. As you said snype, you had it set up to registered users, so all it took was that person to register on your site and they had access to it. By keeping it groups only, only people in that groups can see it. For security for both Evo and RN, they both are great and sentinel on both are the same.

Thanks fellas! I did just as recommended with the groups only. I was never able to get the module Image Upload v1.3 working. The instructions for it are not that great.
But the module that Noto recommended (image host) installed perfectly and with simplicity. Works like a charm.
Thanks again!

Hi again fellas,

Well the image host module is working great. However, I cannot find where to change the background color in the section of each persons content. The default color is white and the text is too, hence you ccannot read the image properties. There isn't a css file for it and I have scoured the php files looking for a possible color code to change. As it stands right now, it is next to impossible to read the image properties. Anyone ever have experience with this module that could tell me where I need to edit the color code for this?

Its all in the index.php m8. If the BG is white try searching for #ffffff (i think thats the right one??) if that fails try just searching for the "#" but there is alot of colour codes in there so make sure to change the right one

Example
Code:
if($bgih == '#FFFFFF')$bgih = '#F5F5F5';
else $bgih = '#FFFFFF';
            echo "
            <tr bgcolor=$bgih>

I will install the module tomorrow and check it out in more detail
