Most if not all theme designers had to learn on there own by looking at how a theme is coded and pulling apart the files to see what is what. but you will need to be able to design and slice a theme before you can learn how to code one but it is really straight forward unless you want to be able to code a theme like ped then i advise any one not to bother lol i have never seen such nice theme coding as ped does (Serious). But i know ped said in one of the news post that he was thinking of making a tutorial for it which would be nice if he did for you. Apart from that i really dont know if any one will take the time to help you i would but too busy playing with windows 7 and COD MW2

I really do want to make a detailed theme instruction module... I think it will be something i do after christmas

Before we start coding a template in PHP I really suggest like snype recommends learning how to slice a HTML template, there are lots and lots of tutorials on-line "How To Slice A PSD Template" is a very good start.

Let me know your progress please

You have a good attempt there scope but to be honest i would learn photoshop alot more before even thinking of doing a theme i mean following tutorials is good but knowing what it all does is better and gives you a better understanding of how much work goes into a theme and the time it takes to make.

ROFL, so you would put it all rights reversed? so who are you reversing them from?

I think you meant to have reserved.

I really think you're underestimating all the bits of work that go into creating a theme.
Don't think this is meant offensive, as it is in no way, but the first thing you need to learn, is how to slice a .PSD. This might seem easy by just going to Photoshop, and save the entire image as a website, and you're done. But it's not. The code that PS will provide you is so out dated, messy, and easy to copy, that you're better of creating everything by hand.

I'd also suggest you take a look at W3C, and learn how to do HTML and CSS, before even attempting to create PHP coded themes.

Thanks for the advice, making the temeplate is easy slicing i struggle to get what i slice and what to call it and other than that i cant code a theme cuase the turoeial i followed turned out when i got half way through to be for a CSS site not nuke so i will look at W3C and post as soon as i think i have a finished theme may be a few months or even years lol but im determined Smiley
