Post Rules mod issue and forum icon search Posted: Thu Oct 22, 2009 1:00 pm

I have 2 queries, the first is an issue with the forum rules/faq mod that comes with the mod-ForumPack_v2.1(06.05.16) called mod-Rules_and_Editor.zip. My issue is that when I go to the edit panel in forum admin all 3 sub categories ( BBCode Guide, Forum FAQ and Site Rules) load blank pages when clicked on.

My second query is in regards to a forum post icon mod for Nuke Evo called Post_Icons_1.0.1 this mod allows forum users to add icons to their threads. I'm in need of this as to mark specific threads with an 18+ icon which I would add myself. Problem is I use PHP Nuke and not NUKE Evo. My questions are 1, would the evo version work with standard nuke? if not 2, is there any nuke versions available? if not 3, are there any similar mods that could facilitate my needs?

Thanks.

Note: I should point out this is for the nuke integrated phpbb. I'm also running V8.0 of Nuke.

Shop Purchases:
Clan Roster 2.0 · Bad Company 2 Vietnam Xtreme Theme

I think the fastest and quickest way would be to just upgrade to nuke evolution, or nuke evolution extreme...

I wouldn't waste the time on PHPNuke v8.0 its unsecure and erm crap to be blunt..

If you preferred a basic version of Nuke then Raven Nuke is the best... but from the sounds of your request, I would go straight to Evo Extreme.

Shop Purchases:
Enemy Territory Theme (Aviator) for PHP Nuke · Clan Roster 2.0 ·  · Modern Warfare 3 Xtreme Theme

EVO!!!!

Leave it to me to say something like that. But I agree with Ped on the fact of what your trying to do, Evo extreme 2.0 is probably right up your ally. It comes pre modded and with a bunch of upgrades. Currently. I am upgrading the upgraded Downloads module to make it better then what they have, but over all its a good system and secured, compared to the unsecured nuke 8.0.

How easy is it to switch over to Evo, I mean I have a site pretty much setup and a good theme and a load of other mods on it. I'm guessing switching would pretty much take out any of the current mods and theme I have setup?

It's pretty easy, even though I am going to make it sound hard. If you catually see what I am talking about, you will see that its easier then how it sounds. The hardest thing is the Database.

When i convert, I only keep tables such as the tables for the admins, forums, and then run there upgrade scrip. Its best to make a copy of your DB, set up a new DB and import the the backup you made to that one, then port it over and to the evo so you don't actually change anything on your current site. Once you have that all going, then your can create a folder in your root called public_html, so your file structure would be public_html/public_html and build the Evo site in that one. Once you have it ready to go, you just rename your public_html to public_html2, then just drag and drop the public_html folder into the place of where the other one was.

If I have time. I will make a quick video tutorial on what I am talking about. I found it to be the best way to do it with a total of maybe 1 or 3 min of site downtime.
