Post How to get the advertisement module working right. Posted: Sat Sep 19, 2009 5:25 pm

Shop Purchases:
Multi Gaming (Warrior) Evo Theme · Clan Roster 2.0 · Modern Warfare 2 Evo

I tried to get the advertisement module to work right, but I seem not to be getting it. In steps this is what I did:

1st: Activated the module
2nd: I added a client. I added Clan Themes since I am an affiliate with you guys.
3rd: I added a banner and put the ad position set to '0'
4th: I went to the file block-advertisements.php and set the ad position number to '0' then added the block to my blocks center up.

Then I refreshed my screen on the homepage and I see no advertisement :(

How do i get it to work? What advertising module do you guys use?

Shop Purchases:
Clan Roster 2.0 · Multi Gaming (Warrior) Evo Theme · COD6 ModernWarfare 2 Teaser Splash Screen · Left for Dead Evo Extreme Version

I am not exactly sure how the banners for evo work. I better let someone with more evo knowledge speak on this one.

Here are some instructions I found In the module

"To use the position you must include the code: ads(position); in your theme file, where "position" is the number of the position you want to use in that ad space.
You can have a look at the file /blocks/block-Advertising.php and file /header.php to have a clear example on how to implement this in your site."

Shop Purchases:
Call of Duty 4 SAS Theme

Open up your advertisments blocks and paste this code over your old one
Code:
if(!defined('NUKE_EVO')) exit;

// Position "1" by default is for block advertising. You can change this from your admin panel
$position = 1;

// Now show it
$content = '<br />';
$content .= ads(1);
$content .= ads(2);
$content .= ads(3);
$content .= ads(4);
$content .= ads(5);
$content .= ads(6);
$content .= '<br />';

?>

Then make sure ad positions are set correct so for ads to be displayed in the block now the position number would be 1 and then you can add more and more and they will display in the block and change on every page reload

Is there any special settings I should do snype? Did you try putting a test ad on your website to see if it works?

Shop Purchases:
Enemy Territory Theme (Aviator) for PHP Nuke · Clan Roster 2.0 ·  · Modern Warfare 3 Xtreme Theme

Also, go into your theme, /root/themes/YOUR_THEME/theme.php and do a search to see if the code has been put into the theme, do a search for this.

Code:
$ads = ads(2);

In Evo themes, they should have that and $ads = ads(0);

the 0 is the header ads and the 2 is the footer ads. You can also create your own position's and edit them into your theme, if you want.

Also, Snype. What system are you using. the one I have on both of my Evo sites look nothing like that. This is the Admin secion of my main site.

Example: www.YOURSITE.com/admin.php?op=BannersAdmin

I cant find $ads = ads(2); or $ads = ads(0); in the theme.php file. Maybe it was never in there from the start? Where should I put it in?
