Post Template compatible with pnc? (xd-error) Posted: Fri Aug 28, 2009 3:06 pm

Shop Purchases:
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Theme

Hi!

I wonder if its possible to use a template called XD-Error (by Xtrato Designs) on my PNC 4.4 install. (found it here at clanthemes)

- Is it compatible?
- Do I have to edit a lot, or does it work if I install it according to the guide?
- Any other suggested theme?

It says: Compatibility: PHP-Nuke 6.x-7.x+

If its usable, please let me know how to (if needed) edit some files.

(I'm really new at nuke) Confused

Hmm.. I'm not sure about the "dead" thing. They just updated PNC 4.4 to 4.5

And if you should advice, what nuke system would that be?

Asking because I'm new to nuke

I know they just updated, I just keep thinking its dead since most of the Devs left and I think its down to just 1 guy. We had a discussion about them and also how they have "vWar" included in there CMS. He was trying to tell me that he has secured it and to me an knowing the history with it along with being a victim, I don't trust it. As for which version of nuke I prefer. I say Nuke Evolution, but others here would say RavenNuke. Both are nice systems. I have not tried RavenNuke 2.4, but I have tried there 2.3 and it was pure garbage. But, its very secure, and its the closest to the vanilla version to nuke. Nuke Evo comes with a ton of mods pre modded, also, there are 2 versions of Evo, There is Evolution 2.0.7 and there is Evo Extreme, Extreme is the one with a ton of mods, but both are what I like and what I use on my personal website for my clan.

Its all opinion based and you will get mixed answers here. I just don't know enough about PNC for I refused to use it since it had vWar and knowing that mod was terrible with there coding and the whole thing needed to be rewritten, just halted me from even giving it a try.

Here is a link to the thread where we discussed PNC. http://www.clanthemes.com/ftopict-5436-pnc-45-advance-release-june-1st.html

My site is http://www.headshotdomain.net, right under my post, you can see a button for WWW, that links you to my site. Wink

Instead of vWar, I use a mix variation of mods that either came with Evo, or I purchased separately. What function of vWar do you like?

As for PNC, I don't want anyone to misconstrued what I am saying. I am not going to say its a bad CMS, I just don't know for I never used it or looked at it for the history of vWar is bad and my experience with it was 6 months of pure hell. Who knows, he might of fixed it, but with my given history, everyone should be able to see where I might be a little timid towards anything that uses vWar.

When it comes to picking a CMS for your self, I find its best to figure out what you need in functions, though RavenNuke, PNC, Evo, and Evo Extreme are all variations of Nuke, in actually using them, there are differences that are enough to make people like one or the other.

PNC 4.4+ is based on PHPNuke 7.6 so it should work yes

I agree with DreAdeDcoRpSE it would be a sound CMS if vWar was removed... they may have fixed it I think they have, but with the track record that of vWar I wouldn't personally touch it...
