Has anyone ever developed a phpnuke link between game servers and the phpnuke database for the purposes of controlling access to the game server. In short, tie game server access to registered users of a phpnuke site. No registration, no access, kind of a deal.

If you can point me in the right direction that would be appreciated.

in what aspect are you thinking, are you thinking like server side commands, like restart server, kick player, restart map, or are you thinking more in the way of the admin side where you can stop and restart the server, and change the command line, update punkbuster, ect..?

That sounds like fun, but honestly not sure its possible. I don't know enough about gameservers to make it happen. However, I think it would have to be limited by IP rather than a username & password.

Was actually thinking of some type of connector that makes it a requirement to be registered on the nuke site in order to be able to use the game server. I guess it could go by ip or other...but that was my thought. My thinking is why should you benefit from our gamerserver and other benefits if you aren't even registered on the site.

I don't think that is possible, for the games them selves don't have the ability to connect to a website and pull information's for that. I believe that wouldn't be on the site end, but more of the game dev's to implement a system like that, and I don't think it will ever be possible for you or I to implement something like that into today's games.

You could always password your servers and keep the passwords in a registered members forum at your site.
You can then swap the password every month if you wish.
You can also if you wanted, only PM the passwords to members that are forum active.
