grab my lil script to scan a certain dir and add all the js fies automaticly it also works with css files to just read the quick read me file to learn how to add it to the custom_head.php

Nods, that is a pretty good idea. The only thing is you need to be sure foreign files can't be added to your directory your looping. Just make sure the directory isn't 777 or something.
