FLASH Media Player Module Posted: Mon Apr 02, 2007 4:54 am

Well, I have been trying to work on some things with making a flash media player and stumbled across a site that has such player that works with all types of sites. But, as I see it so far, it is not perfected to use in conjunction with phpnuke. The groundwork for it is at http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=Flash_Media_Player . I am obviously not versed enough in PHP to make the module, but if anyone here is interested I am listening. From looking at everything it has to offer, I think it is pretty versitle and would be a nice addition to anyones site. If anyone wants to help me out with this, please PM me. I am very interested in getting this to work with my site in various ways.

Welll, through much deliberation I have stumbled across the Wimpy mp3 player. There is even a PHPnuke addage for it.I am looking into the demo version to see what I can do with it. So far the installation is simple for both the player and the nuke addage.Now just to get it to fit on the site correctly and look and function the way that I want. Once I get that worked out, I am going to look more closely through the files and see if I can figure out how to duplicate it better for nuke installation concerning custom addage and admin options. IE, redesign it better to work with more popular nuke CSM's like ravennuke. Well, mostly ravennuke. I have used other nuke versions and scrapped several times. Raven is the best in my opinion and should be the standard. Anyways, off to work on it. Anyone that wants to help, go to my site, or PM me, or catch me on messenger.

hey shixter im looking at the files for the flash player now and i think it should be simple to make a phpnuke intergration kit for it i was thinking about adding an mp3 player to a theme im working on so i will play around and come up with something for my theme and if your still after it intergrating somewhere on your site let me know and ill make up a kit for you pm me on Devil Modz as i dont come on here to offten i just come on when i see floppy posts news on Devil Modz regarding something on here.

shixter i have the media player working it was easy done im playing around now to get a module that looks nice and is easy to use i will make a popup player and so on along with a center block should be done sometime today if you dont want it no biggy ill just stick it on my site (once i finally get it done) for download.

Well, although I am temporarily using the Wimpy player on my site to play some music, I am completely NOT impressed with it. It is too damn limited and has no room for modification on the player itself (they have it locked down). SO, I am still working fervently on creating just the right player to include the file formats that I want for audio and video. I need only mp3 format for the audio, but for the video I want to plug in more than SWF and FLV files. Since people commonly use mpeg and divx variations when making video I want to try to make it able to play those as well so I don't have to spend loads of time converting them.

I don't think it is going to be hard, just incredibly time consuming. But, it will pay off in the long run.
