Hello

Is there something I can do to have the option to send a newsletter to groups? like in the mass email has a drop down option and I can select "members" ect.. to email this format out? I know it has "all users" and other choices but I just want my gaming members in a certain group to get this email and many have not subscribed to "newsletter" because it was a upgrade/ or lazy. lol

As groups i have "members" "senior members" "moderators" "admins" I would hope that I can get it so that I can select just "moderators" and then I send this newsletter to them with my message. Then another day send another email to "members". See what I mean ?

I don't know about Evo extreme, but I do know in the Evo there is something called "newsletter" in the "Administration Menu", in the ACP. That has an option to send just to certain forum groups.

Also, keep in mind there are 2 different news letter modules installed in Evo Xtreme. I was thinking when I read the question that I had seen the option to select a group to send you news letter to. However, I'm not 100% certain as it is I just send my news letters to everyone, we are basically a whole clan of admins.

I started the clan on the same ideals of King Arthurs, Knights of the Round table. We all have input, we all are Admins, we all have the same privilages. It works for me, it works for us.

Wow, got off topic there, sorry.

Make sure you look at both newsletters, one is in the Admin section, the other is in the Modules Administration area.

I believe it's his script that is pre-installed on Evo Extreme, along with the one I mentioned. I know his html newsletter comes in the supplementary folder of Evo.

I never noticed the one is in the Admin section but that is the same as the one in the forum admin CP.

The other is in the Modules Administration area and has templates. Thats why I would love to use this but send it to a certain usergroup like members not to everyone on my site. What made me want it as so was I like the newsletter clan themes sends me with a template so it looks awesome and professional. I don't know why no one has thought of doing this.

If i'm not mistaken The Mortal over at http://www.realmdesignz.com fixed some templates for the pre installed news letter. You would need to add code to the html newsletter files to add groups in the dropdown.

The themes kinda suck for the one in the modules admin section. On the same token, occasionally it gets to acting up and sends something really funky out, like an over sized page hundreds of lines long. I haven't meseed with the pre-installed one, I just know it's there.

Xtreme is also under going a coding change, so it'll be iunteresting to find out if they add additional themes and options to the newsletter module they added.

html news letters are fine. he's wanting a group drop down list in the coding when he wants to send out a news letter. the news letter that comes with evo has bad templates which the mortal fixed 3 of them i believe.
