Shop Purchases:
Operation Flashpoint 2 Theme

I recently purchased a theme and the instructions say to "Simply upload all the files inside the html folder of this zip to the root of your nuke installation on your server."

Would this be the Web Root or the Document Root?

you actually upload it to the themes folder then you go to admin of the site and click themes then install it.

if you dont see the theme you more than likely have uploaded to the wrong directory. the directory that you need to upload the theme to is public_html/themes make sure it is only the theme folder aswell and not the entire zip contents just the theme

the themes folder is inside your nuke root folder. That is whatever folder you uploaded nuke too.

public_html/mysite/themes

Just whatever you chose.

Where ever you installed your site should be folders.
admin
blocks
images
includes
language
modules
themes = this is where you upload the theme before proceeding to site admin to install it. You have to have a themes folder due to the fact you could never see admin nor the site without a default theme. Your new theme will go in the themes folder next to the themes already there.

Post Noob Question Posted: Sun Jun 14, 2009 2:25 pm

This is why I hate assumptions, much of this could have been handled within the 1st two posts.

Durk, the 1st thing you need to do is know where your ftp is located and the information you need to access the area or folder provided to you by your webhost. Once you do that and have opened that for viewing, you may see any number of folders, imagine this as your "webhosts directory or webhosts folder." Now, once inside here you will find your "websites root directory " or folder (the root directory will appear as a folder icon) and it can have any of a number of names. This directory is refered to by several different names, they are "root," "root directory" and "root folder" so keep this in mind. For some webhosts your root directory will be your websites name, i.e. "clanthemes" others it will be "index" or "html" or or "index_html" or "public_html" It just depends on what your webhosts preferences are. Unfortunately, there is no true one standard to keep everything simple for new guys. When you figure which one your webhost is using then that is where you place all your nuke files and folders. Let's say that for arguments sake its your websites name. We'll use "ClanThemes" as an example. You will place all your Nuke CMS folders and files inside of it.

Folder-> CLANTHEMES
Sub Folder-> addons
Sub Folder-> blocks
Sub Folder-> images
Sub Folder-> modules
Sub Folder-> themes
ans so on....

All of the themes are to be places in the themes folder, the link will look like this: clanthemes-> themes

Hopefully this clears out the mud a little. Sometimes the master forgets he is a student as well.

Relic your posts come across very rude to me and very critical. all the above posts will help any one to install the theme its just a matter of him finding where he installed nuke to once he has found that he will find the theme folder.

I agree its not just a few of your posts it seems there's a little attitude in everyone of them. Your reply in the clan matches thread is a good example.
