Shop Purchases:
Clan Roster 2.0 · Multi Gaming (Warrior) Evo Theme · COD6 ModernWarfare 2 Teaser Splash Screen · Left for Dead Evo Extreme Version

It really isn't as complicated as you think. Basically, you want to download all your files from the ftp in the nuke root directory (usually public_html) and export your database from phpmyadmin.

I personally don't have time as I am dedicated to finishing a clan script, but plenty of users have experience with this and I am sure one will happily help you out for a donation.

Job open to the public..

Post Transfer a Site Posted: Tue Jun 02, 2009 6:47 am

If you have SSH access you can do it that way a lot more quickly then these other suggestions. Here is how to do it.

Compress your public_html directory on the old site into a .tar. This way your file permissions would be preserved making it less work for your to prepare you site on the new server. Login through ssh if you have it or telnet to the server with the website.

First: CD to your public_html
cd /home/somepath/to/yourwebsite/public_html
Then use this command: tar -cvf sitepack.tar ./
To pack the files into a tarball.

Once that is finished goto your new server and login through ssh. CD to your public_html on the new server:
cd /home/somepath/to/yourwebsite/public_html

And then: wget yourdomain.com/sitepack.tar

Then: tar -xvf sitepack.tar
To unpack the tarball.

Ker-splat! Done. However there are a few things you should check on before setting up and opening the site. Like:

1. Make sure the correct owner and group are on your files you just unpacked. You can check to see what they are by typing:

ls -la

If the owner or group is wrong you can type this to fix all the files:

chown -R owner.group ./

owner.group should be replaced with the owner name you want and the group name you want. It will go through all your files and directories and change them to the correct owner and group.

2. Make sure the file permissions were preserved.

Then there are a few steps you'll need to do to get the site going on that server, of which you may already know.

You will need to export your database from the old server and import it to the new server. Create a database with the same name, username and password so you won't have to reset and reconfigure the config file on the new server.
