They are all based off of the original phpNuke from php-nuke.org. They are all the same, basic, language. And they all (no matter what version you choose) have a security hole somewhere. If a hacker wants to destroy something, if they're determined enough, they eventually will. All versions of nuke whether it's evo, ravens, platinum, 8.0, fusion, etc have updates to their security systems. The systems that still have support come out with a security update when a new hole is found.
Nothing foolish about my statement. I take offense to that. If you are constantly being hacked perhaps you did something inappropriate to someone that ticked them off and you're being targeted. hehe maybe you called someone a name, like "fool" that you shouldn't have?
I have and know of 7.6 sites that have been up since 2001 and haven't been hacked yet. Even with some of them being in the top 3 of a google search. http://www.ghosthounds.com is an example.
Your site being hacked depends a lot on who you are, how you treat your guests , and the content you have on it.

I meant no offense towards you, but what I said is true. But if you are going to sit there and tell me that they are secured and safer then Rn and or Evo, then I will say it out loud, you are a fool. Nuke 7.9 - 8.X I know to be big in security flaws, and for someone to say that they are secured is probably one in the same that will sit here and say vWar is secured, once you do all the security fixes people set out, even when the developers will tell you that it is very unsecured even with the fixes.
Yes, I know they all have there holes and security flaws, but compared to Evo or RN, 7.9 - 8.X are Swiss cheese with security holes. I and about 90% of the nuke community would agree when I say, its better to go with something that is more secured then base model nuke. I wouldn't be where I am here if I didn't know that RN and Evo are based after phpnuke 7.6. But for 2 places that strive to fix as snipe said, over 20,000 security holes that well, allot still linger in the base nuke 8.x, I would have to say that they are more secured and would recommend any day over a CMS that still lacks in fixing the holes.
As for my site, when I was getting hacked. It was because someone went out looking for any Nuke site running 7.9 or 8.0, so they could upload "Fishing Files". They didn't care who you were, just looking for those CMS. I even contacted the guy that got through my security and he did reply to me, he stated to me that he was looking for any site that he can get into to make money. He was using my site to get peoples bank information. I did inform raven and a few other how he got in and that was patched up already in the RV and Evo version, but not in the 7.9+. Before saying anything, yes, I had sentinel and the latest patches, but it still made no difference in stopping him.
