It is better than any nuke out there. The closest competition is EVO and it is sorta dying or half breathing CMS. The original EVO is no longer being developed, but their are others developing EVO Extreme which hasn't received great reviews by past EVO users.

Interesting thoughts of conversage here so I had to place, again, my .02 cents here.

Php Nuke as a program is on it's way out. Just as html was replaced, Php Nuke is also being replaced. I've noticed a steady migration by Php Nukers to Xhtml, Flash, and CSS based websites; CSS being the most prominant direction.

There are a wide number of reasons for this migration so citing one in paticular would do this movement a grave injustice, just know that Php Nuke is fading. And no, I have no idea as to how much longer Php Nuke will remain a constant source for a CMS.

On the same token, we are still a few years way, that you can count on.

Another wrench to be added is the conception of Internet 2. Who knows when this will occur, but we do know the internet we know as it exists now dredfully needs revamping.

I find it funny people say phpnuke is fading away. I do agree that phpnuke is fading away as the 2 prominent versions of it, Raven Nuke and Nuke Evolution. Though it is dieing slowly, I feel that it will be around a lot longer then a few more years as more and more people are still setting up nuke sites each day.

As for when and if it is truly dieing. nobody knows and can show proof of if it is or is not dieing. I do agree with the CSS style sites becoming more prominent, but not flash. More and more people are moving away from the flash sites for loading of them and many others that just don't have there flash upgraded tend to leave a site before going into it. Which is pushing potential customers away. I have in the past 3 years seen maybe 15 sites or more that started off being flash sites move away from that and either go to a form of a CMS or they went and designed there own site using CSS.

But time will only tell. I figure as long there are people that are around willing to keep it alive and keep building upon it and improving it. Then it wont die.

Flash sites are on the rise, the "Splash Page" is not. I'm wondering if there is a bit of confusion regarding this.

I agree the Splash page caught on quickly, but ended just as it appeared, and exactly for what you said, people just get tired of clicking on it to go thru to the site. I hate Splash Pages as well.

I wasn't trying to push the idea that php nuke was comming to an immediate halt, it is not. However, it is getting old and is being replaced gradually.

Sorry for having to cut this short, it's bed time for a little girl. Sorry for the shortness and not so indepth commentary. I'll post more thought later.

na, I am talking about flash sites. I am seeing fewer of them then ever. I dont see how they are on a rise at all. 99% of the sites I go to are some sort of CMS, or CSS site. I am not talking about sites with a little flash like a header or something. I am talking about the full site being flash. I am seeing less of those then ever.

i dont think php-nuke like ravnesnuke or nuke-evolution will die out these will be going for alot longer than many think, but i do think what you meant was that standard php-nuke 8 and so on are are on there way out cause people look for security in a CMS and you get that and more in ravens and evo CMS

yes i have to aggree with the flash sites there are very little about that i see
