I have just uploaded RavenNuke 2.30.10 to the server and when I went to install I got this 500 Internal Server Error message:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@unfaithful-gamers.co.uk and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

What would be causing this error and how can it be fixed? Thanks in advance for any help with this one.

At what stage did the error message occur? was anything successfull till this occured?

My first answer was to re-download raven from ravenphpscripts.com may still be the way to go.

It started after I uploaded. I have edited the config file with the correct SQL settings which I have double checked.

Sorry for going back to basics here, did you run the Install scripts from your browser, (www.yoursite.xxx/INSTALL.php it may be INSTALLATION

All pages show the same error including the install files. Previously had PHPNuke 8.1 installed but had problems with it so I switched to this version and it is running with a new database.

Not an expert here but i do run raven scripts, and had absolutly no problems, it is as sweet as a nut. If the error comes in on everything you do and its a new data base, and you obviously know what your doing, i would go back to step 1 and re-download raven from www.ravenphpscripts.com or at least ask there and maybe raven can advise, sorry if this feels like a kiss off, its not meant that way, the problem causing the error could be anywhere within the base script. sorry

I will try that and see what happens. I will also try using a different FTP program to upload the files. Can you recommend a good one?

The ones I have used are FTP Surfer and WISE-FTP 5 and both seem pretty crap. Standard FTP with hosting is the Java one and only allows 500 files a time with a 5M size limit per file. I will try uploading a fresh download and use the filezilla you suggested tomorrow. Hopefully it sorts the problem.

FileZilla works great as does ws_ftp.

Remember, do not upload your CMS all at one time. Break the root directory folders down to 2 or 3 at a time.

Hello mate,

KK first of all use filezilla, best free FTP software you can use.

Once all uploaded and the database settings are in config.php

Go to: www.YOURDOMAIN.***.***/INSTALLATION/installSQL.php first

*You must do this file first or you will get errors*

Make sure also that INSTALLATION is all in caps as most servers are linux based.

If this doesnt help ya bro send me a PM if you would like me to do the install for you and also your theme.

Be advised there will be a charge for this though bro.

Doc you missed the part where you have to add the database info into the config.php lol goto do that befor going to the install page open your config.php in the root and edit the info inside with yours ex... dbname=database name.....nuke_nuke, dbpass= database password dbuser= database username all this needs to be correct or you wont be able to install
