New 3.4ghz Core i7 with 6x 1TB HDs in RAID5
Loaded with 12GB DDR3. Fastest specs on Newegg.

Used to run 3 VMs with the main acting as a file and print server. We run both Linux and Windows on our tower. It's nicely tucked inside a Coolermaster Cosmos case with an 1100 watt PSU. It's set for gaming, but we prefer it as a server. :)

Sorry for the delay. I've been rebuilding two new websites from the ground up, so to speak. They are just phpBB3 sites with a good deal of modification and data transfer.

Anyways, I won't have pics for a while as I haven't been able to find my camera in nearly 3 months... It looks identical to this though

Cooling isn't to bad. I juiced up the cooling a bit by replacing all stock fans with some faster ones. I have the good fortune of working for a machinery company, as I have access to some pretty powerful 110v fans. Devil

Anyways, it averages 75F in case, and I'm not to for sure on the core. It really depends on how many people are doing what. I managed to consolidate one VM into the main OS and increase the storage of my database VM. When all users are tapped into the DB, I can get my CPU to peak around 23-26%. That's with 20 users. Not bad considering it's the only server in the company.

My tower at home is a Thermaltake Armor+ case. I'm planning (hoping really) to get a Thermaltake Bigwater 780e sometime in the near future to cool that one. It gets insanely hot. I have an Asus WiFi-AP board with 8GB ram, a 2.4ghz Quadcore, dual nVidia 8800GTS cards in SLI. I currently have 3x750gb HDs installed, with two 750s external.

Hopefully Facebook allows hotlinking...

Those were taken in December 2008. Since then, I removed the lame USB thing in the front. I installed a PCI USB card to give me a nice internal port. I then modified a powered USB Hub by chopping the 5v AC adaptor and turning it into a molex end. Internally, I have a set of neon 'thunder' tubes that are controllable via the PC. I broke down and bought the Phidgets relay controller and it turns all of my lighting on and off from the desktop (or remotely over the web).

If anyone here is interested in something similar to my setup using Phidgets, this might just be WAY more helpful. They released it just over a month ago...

I know it's a bit expensive, but with 8 different sensory inputs, you could hook a temp sensor to nearly everything in your case. Plus, this can turn on and off double what I have. I have been considering getting the LCD model and mounting it in the front of the case, but I think I'll pass for now. My next project is getting a console system rack and modding it out. I'll have more when I do something else that's pretty large.

BTW, I have a dual core Dell Poweredge SC440 with a 750gb HD and a 500gb HD, 3GB of ram up for sale. I upgraded to a custom build with 8gb ram, a 2.4ghz quad core, a 300gb WD Raptor for the OS and 6x1TB in raid5 for storage of all of my movies, music and apps. I stuck in an nVidia 9600GT for good measure. I have Tversity media server on it as well so I can stream all of my media over to our Nintendo Wii. :)
