Friends i was an avid Platinum user till the file size grew to well over 75 megs. Has anyone heard of a release date for the newest version of Genesis ? Would make for a great install if it still stays the same size as 76B5. It was a nice start to the project. If the grouping issues could have been resolved it would have been a nice choice right..

Ive not heard nothing about this Genisis

Evolution Nuke has stopped being developed now as well, Technocrat decided enough was enough and moved on to work with phpbb3 http://www.phpbb-evolution.com/

I do know that Ravens Nuke is extremely good, and hopefully this will move us back into the light, I know PHPNuke has faded a little in the past, but for clans it still is the best option.

genesis is 75% complete think the devs are just getting back to normal arfter all the festive seasons not to mention loki is un-well again, i no that it is not going to be the same as B.5 as the whole cms is a re-write it is going to be a stripped down version then you add the MODULES and BLOCKS your self.

they are making alot of custom modules that user's have requested also fusion security will be within the cms as the devs have taken this to new levels since B.5, i am a life long user of platinum and love the cms so can not wait till genesis comes out

I always used to use platinum as well

Then when you learn how to install modules and blocks yourself.. you should just use Ravens Nuke and install the modules and blocks you want.

I found platinum like evo is full of useless stuff that never gets used, the best thing about using them was the fact that the forums had all the mods pre-installed as standard.

Its all personal preference though, so i tell people to install the 3 main versions and see for yourself !

yepp couldnt aggree more about the mods there are some good ones in b.5 but dont ever touch alot of them no need for them but the forum mods are what i love the most alright they could do with some better ones replacing some older ones but if you no how you can do these your self

I think if some one took Ravens Nuke, added all the good forums MoD's it too would be a much loved CMS

I might do it.. i might not... its a lot of work, and as soon as they make a new update you would have to do all the dam edits again... Bad HAir Day

i started that a while back only got the rep mod and medal mod done then they did release there update and i couldnt carry it on as for some wierd reason i couldnt find the constants.php file in the includes?? if it was still there i would have carryed it on

Problem is with every new version they release they recode parts bit by bit in some cases as is with the new Ravens Nuke v2.30 this is just an example, all of the older include files that used to be in the includes folder for the forums, they moved to the modules/forums/includes instead.. which makes sence just makes moders life a little more harder.

I think at the end of the day as a user of PHPNuke you have to choose what's most important with each and everysite you make, and for me that's security... so I tend to not install any modules that are no longer supported no more.

If I was to make a Clan site... well different kettle I think it would have to be forum mods ! lol Clans like spam !

i no the guys at FN are working hard to get GENESIS finished but to be honest i cant see it being soon and plus it is gona be the same as ravennuke also belive they are working of RN core, so if it will still be as secure as what they hoped then hey they may have a good CMS if not then they may have to call it a day for that project, and plus its is just going to be like running RN as it will not come with any pre-installed.

to be honest any one waiting i would use ravennuke or evo(xtreme) i have turned to evo xtreme the main reason being the forum mods cant beat a forum that has some of these mods and the best part they come pre-installed

anyway just my opinion

Wolf has a point "tiny" There is so lilttle in thsi new package and i have not heard a realese date heck it might be coming out soon
