Hello Friends

I just installed the advanced BBcode box 5.1.0 onto my site which used phpnuke 7.9 with phpbb 2.0.23. It works fine, but as you will see in the picture, there are two separate boxes, one of which you can't type anything in. It seems as if that box on the bottom left should go into the other box, at least according to other screen shots I have seen. I am no php guru, I can only copy and paste code following instructions. To that end, I did retry this three times to make sure there wasn't something I missed. My guess is that it has to do with the version of phpbb/phpnuke OR my theme. I was hoping someone might be able to give me some tips for fixing the issue. Thanks for your time.

Oh by the way, I did try stickied NO TEXT AREA fix posted at the top of this forum. It did add a text box to the area that it should have one, but it didn't work. I could type in there, but when I hit post, it said "YOU MUST ENTER A POST." It was like it wasn't recognizing what was posted in the box. And, at the top of the box it said [/code]. So I have no idea what that was all about. I just removed the fix and it returned back to the way I have pictured here.

Overall, it seems like you are going wrong somewhere in your edits. For my old site was nuke 7.9 with the forums 2.0.23. so I know it works, and not all the edits where correct when it came to the readme, there were a few things I had to work with.

Try what I suggest in this thread.

Also, there are dozens of threads on this addon. But I do suggest changing CMS. I found out the hard way that its better to change when you can rather when its to late. I know that Nuke Evolution has this pre-installed, and I believe Ravenuke to also have it installed.

Ah thanks for the info. Ya that is what I figured, something with the edits. But that is why I asked, I do not have the ability to figure out what needs changed in the edits, if they are not correct in the read me.

Edits to the mod is vague at best. They try covering a basic install of I think like 7.6. But in later version I believe things were changed, along with themes are not always the same. The best thing like I said is to get rid of Nuke 7.9 and go with something secure. If your not heavily modded, then the transaction should be some what easy.

Only other thing is if you really want it, there are people that will install it for a price. What is there price, no clue. Everyone charges differently.

Hey thanks for the info. I tried the very first thing in the post you linked, about getting rid of the last </td> </tr> </table> and it worked like a charm!!! That said, which version of nuke would you suggest? 7.9 is what my host installed by default. Thanks

My first nuke site did the same for me, it took almost 1.5 years for me to learn why not to have it. My site was hacked about 7 times in 2 weeks time. I was lucky to be able to save my users and my forums post, but I lost almost everything else.

It really depends what you are looking for. If your looking for something that is more gaming related, then you can go with Nuke Evolution. Like my site.

If your looking for a secure site for a regular site, to sell stuff, or even gaming, then I would go with RavenNuke. I Suggest Evolution for a gaming site for the reason that it comes with allot of addon's already added. Converting over I found pretty easy, just take your time. I know I will be doing it again on a friends site with in the next few months.

Hello folks,

By reading posts I think this is the one problem I'm having now as well. Not sure since pictures are gone, but here comes mine.

the problem is in the box. I did the fix for no text area and i can type into it now, but... that area looks like in image above - basicly there is this one line witch is the color I want.... rest of it - it's white, for some reason... I can still type in that white area, but can't see a thing what I'm typing untill I select all that text....

Any ideas how to get rid of that white background ?

okay, I am not 100% on this, but you can give this a try. Like the edits I provided in a post on the other page,

Find

In there you should see style="width:100%"

Replace the style="width:100%"

with

Code:

style="width:100%; color:#FFFFFF"

You may have to fiddle with the color a bit, if #FFFFFF doesn't work, then try #000000 and try that.
seems to be more of a theme problem.

by adding #000000 , it changed my text color to black and I can see it now the text in the white box, but still is doesn't make all text area box in one color. #FFFFFF didn't change anything ....
