Most of the sites I have visited use Nuke Evo. My question is which is better..Evo, Plat, or Raven?
I was told the Plat B5 has a lot of security issues and that is why it was pulled.

Raven is better for the one simple reason that almost everything created for nuke is compatible with it. To create something compatible with evo, you must do some extra work.

RavenNuke 2.3 has some great extras and awesome security. Those guys have done a lot of work to improve phpnuke while still allowing most modules and blocks to work with it.

Hello. I'm kind of new to the whole Nuke scene as i've been more into phpbb3 and portals earlier.
I changed over to PHPNuke 8.1 which i think is great,but noticing that wherever i look,people tent to favor RavenNuke.

Should i ditch the 8.1 and go Raven instead?

The latest Raven I personally have used and as some as will agree, is not as nice as there prior releases. As for Nuke 8.1, I do say ditch it for security reasons, and go with either RavenNuke or Nuke Evolution. I started off originally with phpbb also back when 2.0.14 was new and left when phpbb 2.0.21 was somewhat new, and moved to phpnuke 7.9. After a while and having my site hacked I moved to RavenNuke. But with many of the features that was availiable, it had its draw backs that did get on my nerves time to time so I dropped it and went over to Evo. I like Evo, but as floppy said, finding things for it is hard so I been trying to test module and alter them if needed so they will work with Evo to build the library with mods that will work with it. but as for this new RavenNuke, sorry to all the dihard RavenNuke fans, I think its a pos. After playing with it for a little over a week and trying some of the things, it came down to if it wasn't one thing causing a problem, it was another. I feel they are starting to bring RavenNuke closer to Nuke Evo style.

Me I feel that:
RavenNuke 4/10
Evolution 9/10

Overall, it comes down personal preference. I like the easy of Evo and how it came pre-installed with many of the mods that I wanted.

Nicely explained,thanks.I installed RavenNuke 2.30.01 to look arround,and the only thing that really bugged me,was that anything i did within the admin section,i had to do it twice for it to update. Wether it be theme or module change. Why is that? I also got blocked by sentinel in the admin area. So which version or RavenNuke,Evo would you recommend? I might follow your advice and ditch Nuke 8.1,since i've just started to get my clan site nice and clean now and i'd hate to see it get hacked.

If you have just started , then try both... pain in the ass but its crucial to try both

I wouldn't touch PHPNuke 8.1 or anything else other than Ravens or Evo.

My own personal view is Ravens, only because Evo is full of extra's that I just wouldn't use.

If you want a site with all the extras's from the start then use Evo..

If you want to only add what your going to use, then use Ravens.

Try both, then you will know for sure
