Post Application module Posted: Fri Sep 12, 2008 6:47 am

Hi there, I am hoping you guys can help. I am looking for a relatively easy application module that I can customize for my guild. So Far I have tried the wow application mod although our guild is in warhammer, was hoping to tweak it to fit warhammer didn't go to well. Still learning the whole php language. :)

Then I tried the other one that was suggested called Member Application Module, But the site it sends me wants me to register before downloading. This is no big deal if their site wasn't gimped and not allowing me to log in even after I registered and clicked the link in the e-mail it sent me.

Anyways if you guys know of a module that will either fit the warhammer theme or that I can fully customize myself please I beg you to share your info. :)

Shop Purchases:
Enemy Territory Theme (Aviator) for PHP Nuke · Clan Roster 2.0 ·  · Modern Warfare 3 Xtreme Theme

The Member Application is the one I recommend. Which site you going to, cause Tim has 2 of them, and I will let him know that you are trying to login but can't. Also what name are you trying to register with.

Sorry your having issues registering on my site, I just put Pro Forms Lite in the downloads here. It is the replacement for Member Application.

http://www.prowhs.com is the site I was having problems with. I tried using kftj414 and herra14 both I checked my e-mail and clicked the activation link but whenever I tried to sign it it just kept saying login error. But I will give that form lite a shot and see how that works. :)

Have you installed Pro Forms Lite yet? If so, let me know what you think.

I have looked into the login issues, on the front page, left column, login it seems the captcha system is only showing 5 of the needed 6 characters. I am setting the captcha to new registrations only. My hope is that will remedy this issue. Please try to login again.

thanxs hun, I can now log into your site just fine. Now onto a few questions.

After some research into ioncube I think I have installed it onto my site. I say think because after I followed the basic step to install ioncube and I tried to run the Pforms install I kept getting that usual error of you don't have ioncube. Then I figured out I had to put the modified php.ini directly into the pro form directory. and it gave me a new message. this was the message it gave.

There seems to be a problem with the mysql server, sorry for the inconvenience.

We should be back shortly.

did I solve the ioncube problem i am guessing I did since i didn't get any error related to ioncube on the install page.

Is the phrase above referring to my own sql database server or something else? If it is refering to mine then I must have done something wrong because my server is running just fine.

Smiley per the install instructions, there is a seperate config file in the PRO_Frms/admin directory called configPF.php. You need to edit it to match your database.

yeah I did that so did I edit it wrong? I was a little cofused on the part that asked me to Set the table name prefix here. I wasn't sure what prefix I needed to put in there. I mean I want to install it in my nuke database. But the data base has hundreds of tables. So if you could elaborate or simply speek in dumb dumb terms, :P lol that would help allot. :)

No problem, it should match exactly the settings in your nuke config.php. Normally the prefix would be nuke or nuke_

As a developer, it's very hard to write clear instructions after you've been through installing and testing the software a few thousand times. Everything becomes automatic and you're not as clear as you should be. Also an ocasional detail gets left out for the same reason.

woot you rock it worked ..... but now I am back to having the old ioncube issue yet again. Grrr . so I go to my website and goto my admin page and holy moly half of my page doesn't show up. The top box with icons for prefernces and such shows up no prob. Then the bottom box with my modules it cut off at the very bottom and the bottom of the page that shows the list of my modules or even my blocks doesn't show up at all and of course I also get this message.

Site error: the file /home/forsigco/public_html/Serenity/modules/PRO_Forms/admin/links.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so to be installed by the site administrator.

I thought I had the whole ioncube install worked out. ..... My head hurts, :P

Oh and just a suggestion have you guys thought about do some sort of a tutorial walkthough using screenshots or a video to show amatures like me how to do things right the first time. :)

You need to have IonCube in the folder if the module that will be using it. So just put a php.ini in each subfolder leading to it that has the propure Zend extensions and that should do the trick. That's what I had to do on my site.

The tutorial and illustrated manual are in the works. Those things take more time then writing the software I think.
