Post Downloads module help Posted: Sun May 04, 2008 7:49 am

Most every phpnuke site I go to has Access Denied come up when unregistered users try to download. That is exactly what I want to happen and I cannot work it out. The option isn't in admin that I can see and everytime I try and find a custom module to add this all i get is a long list of random custom modules available for download and not available download modules, if you see the difference.

I searched Karakas-Online and found the exact same question asked but the poster solved it by using the 'enchane download module'. I have no idea what that is and nor does Google.

Also, and this may sound like a ridiculous question, does where I host the files on my site affect things? Do they have to be in a certain folder for this Access Denied thing to happen?

Any help much appreciated!

Shop Purchases:
Clan Roster v1.7 Php Nuke Module · Clan Roster 2.0

All you need to do is go to your Nuke Admin panel then into modules administration and then look for downloads. Click on Edit and then change it from all site users to "Registered Members Only" that will then say when a "non-Member" clicks on it "Only Registered Members May View This Module" or similar.

Nice and easy eh?

But I don't want to restrict access to the module. As with a ton of other sites, I want people to be able to see the downloads but, when they click on then, they get the 'Access Denied - Registered users Only' message.

Thanks for the reply though!

The Access Denied message is generated by *nuke at module access level as the previous poster mentioned.
In order to do what you want you would need to remove that security restriction in the modules index file (not advisable) and replace it in the appropriate function call.
An alternative method would be to use something like NSN GR Downloads which I think has that functionality.
