Try this , open up your header.html and add this to the very top.

Code:
<EMBED src="path_to_sound_file.mp3" autostart=true hidden=true>

Fun for the 1st 5min then will probably become a pain in the ass.

Couldnt agree more, sounds wicked if you have the right sound... give it an hour as the sound plays every single page refresh .... and your members will start to complain that they hate it

the "EMBED" tag is not approved by W3C it comes from encient html specifications and is not recomended to use.

if i were you i'd visit these 2 links first and tried to fix all the errors:

HTML - http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bfmarines.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

CSS - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bfmarines.com%2F&profile=css21&usermedium=all&warning=1&lang=en

---------------- Everyone seems normal until you get to know them

O god.....

Its bad enough that lamost every Browser cant agree on compliance, functionality, & Plugins...now we have to deal with this W3C Dictating what SHOULD and SHOULD NOT BE ???

Bro..heres my advice, if it works for IE and Firefox..Screw W3C !!!

I know you guys are searching these damn validators left and right on most sites..but does it really matter ???

You will not recieve help from me if i have to go digging for your CMS information and version, If i have to take the time to play 21 questions, then you can take the time to google! No Copyright, no support either!

The whole W3C thing, particularly the XHTML specification is there to *ensure* cross browser compatibility - pity no one told the browser coders though lol.

I don't know how the forum BBCode will handle this but I'll try it anyway - you can use the inline object tag for if compliance is important;
Code:
<object>
  <param>
  <param>
</object>

<input type="button" value="Start">
<input type="button" value="Stop">

Nah it didn't like it so here's a link instead

2Bayler: of course it does matter. if you run FF and have the Firebug plugin on your FF you can imagine how does your browser suffer when fixing all these markup errors on page load. btw this slowers page loading and sometimes can cause wrong view or even freezing. W3C doesn't dictate what should be or should not be man do not kid me Smiley there exist html and other specifications and if it comes to creating webpages one must follow these specifications. here we speak the english language (btw my excuses for my disgusting english, i am russian). what if i write like this: hyper specification text is useful very markup for language creat pages ing would it be good and easy to read? the same deal with valid markup and style sheets.

Shop Purchases:
WOW Wrath Of The Lich King Theme

why not just create a custom block for your chosen sound wav and set the autostart to false an allow the user controls to play the feed, this will save frustration on both ends instead of having one sound wav on a loop that would drive me mad. Just my input.
