Hey All,

I have finally decided to sit down and work out why my advertising module is not working, main reason - Error: One or more fields are empty. Please go back and correct the problem. - even though none are empty! I finally worked out why this is.

The reason: You cant put a direct buy link in the advertising admin bit you must put a page reference i.e: http://www.pd-inc.co.uk/advertising/planspage.html etc or in my case: http://www.pd-inc.co.uk/modules.php?name=Advertising_plans (which I don't have yet)

Is this normal? I would of thought Ravens would of put or allowed you to put a direct buy link in the plans/prices admin: "Buy Links" area.

So can anyone tell me where I can make a plans page up, can I do this in html rather than in php (coz I is nub)

You get all the images you need to make the page up but I dont know where to put the page, or what to call it, or even how to make it!

I'm stuck!

I always used Telli's ad module, but you might ask at raven's site as I am no expert there. I would be interested to see it get sorted.

I don't think many ppl use the inbuilt advertisement module that comes with nuke then? I take it the advertisement module in RN 2.10 is just the standard release then? Also what version of nuke is RN 2.10 based on is it Nuke 7.6?

Does 7.6 come with the 2.9 patch installed or do I have to hunt around for that also?

I have found another banner module I want to use, which is: NSN Banner Ads 75-77 130

It states on the download link: http://www.nukescripts.net/modules.php?name=Downloads&op=getit&lid=2002
It requires PHP-Nuke 7.5-7.7 + Patched 2.9 be installed.

I don't think i have this patch as when I go into the admin area all I get is a blank white page, even the module itself wont work same thing blank white page, I know I have snow on my site but this is taking it to far LMAO

Seriously though, as I have also transfered all the banners to this module I would really like to get it working.

Also I have to make some changes in the theme.php file see below:

html/nsnba.php ---------------------> This installer will install, upgrade,
or destall NSN Banner Ads.

3. Use
------
1) The link needed to use anywhere is :

2) To use the side blocks you should simply upload the files as noted above.
After that you "Create New" block and the block will appear in your selection
list.
3) In your theme.php files (you MUST edit all themes) look for the themeheader &
themefooter functions. Then replace the first example with the second example:
(In some themes you will find a complete copy of the old banners.php code, in
that case you will need to replace that section completely)
THEMEHEADER ORIGINAL LINES

You will have to add the following to your theme.php (if your theme uses
html files this is the one to edit):
1) $tbanners1 to the header display for placement 1 (header.html).
2) $tbanners2 to the footer display for placement 2 (footer.html).

4. File Modifications
---------------------
Goto http://www.nukescripts.net/modules.php?name=Script_Depository . Once there go
in the Modified_Core_Files/NSN_Banner_Ads section and select your version of
PHP-Nuke. There your will find pre-edited core files that you can use or compare
to your current copy to find the needed edits.

I will pay someone to fix this if they have come across it before or if someone knows how to fix it and it's not too complicated im pretty sure I can have a go myself!

I take it that is for 7.6 only? Just what I got! There is no mention of this 2.9 Patched thingy, I'll give this one a go and post here how I get on.

never used any banner modules always made do with the default, so i cant really help u.

in order to show your plans and prices you must have a plansandprices.php page or whatever name you so choose. Seeming as I am nub (yes I will admit it) LMAO

I don't have a first rate clue how to do this, I have gone for Western Studios Banners and it seems to be working for the most part, I still cant get the images to show in IE but that just IE being gay I think, and on one page in the clients bit there is a sql feedback loop which im working on also!

Thanks for filling me in on the info though Noto very much appreciated :)
