well i want to make a new php based site. i've heard alot about php but never used it so what do i really need??

like ok a domain is a easy one
then i need PHPNuke 8.0 right??
and im also guessin i need apache .. ( w/e the hell tht is )

but see heres the thing .. i have no idea where to even start .. so some starter tips would really help out.

theres a couple of things your gonna need.

#1, A good host. Everybody has a suggestion. Their's is always the best. Do some research, find out which one meets your needs (Hostgator.com). Some hosts may already have a PHP Nuke that will be a one click install for you. You probably need to buy a domain too (website name). If you find a good host, usually you can get the domain name through them for free if you play your cards right.

#2, if the host you go through doesn't have a one click installer for PHPNuke, or you want a different version. You'll have to find the supporting site for the style you want, and download it from them.

#3, get ready to read and learn. the one thing I have found with the year and a half I have been playing around with PHP Nuke is that there is a huge learning curve, and you need to be patient. You will post a lot of questions in forums, wait long times for answers, and may not end up with the one you want. Don't expect to have the perfect site the first time around. You will make mistakes, and hopefully you will learn from them.

#4, go back and read #3 again, come to terms with it. After that, you should be fine.

#5, When you get to the point that you are downloading blocks and scripts like the items available from this site, and trying to integrate them into yours, read and re read the instructions. Make sure it seems to make sense to you. Because if it doesn't, it probably won't work. I guess you should go back and read #3 again.

Remember, if you build it, they will come.

I suggest the phpnuke distro from www.ravenphpscripts.com. Well supported and great security.

Its a pre-modded version of nuke. The two main distro's are RaveNuke and Evolution. The best version of php-nuke was 7.6 and both of those distro's are based on it.

I prefer ravennuke, but evo has its pluses too.

To install the latest version of nuke would make me wanna slap you.

(no lie .. this sentence made me laugh for like 5 minutes and im still giggling)

Also .. this has got to be thee best clan site ive ever seen .. its helped me so much and all the downloads are just simply amazing!!!

One more thing ... is evo 2.0.5 a good one .. i seen it in your downloads section
