Post Use existing phpbb forum Posted: Thu Jul 12, 2007 5:36 am

How can I get the forums module to point to my existing PHPBB forum? I don't want to import it into PHPNuke (7.9), I want to leave it as it is. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Hello Kosmic,

if i understand your question proabaly all u need to do is to create a new modle to link to your forums.

To do this is very simple, in this example i will be linking to clan-themes.

1st make a new folder and name it what u like, I'm naming mine clan_themes.

2nd inside your newly created folder create a blank (.php) and name it index.php

3rd open your index.php and paste this code (change the link to your link) then save !

"edit code and quote on forums not working lads ? have to use a pic sorry Kosmic u will have to type lol"

upload the folder u have made to your nuke /modules directory once uploaded simply activate your new module from the admin side of nuke changing its display name if needed, then deactivate the original nuke forum module if required.

Shop Purchases:
Multi Gaming (Warrior) Theme · Clan Roster v1.7 Php Nuke Module ·  · Clan Themes Green PhpNuke Theme

Could this same method be applied to normal webpages?

If I made something in flash and placed it into an html page and pointed new module to it would the page be viewable within the frame of the site or would it be seperate?

I know its a silly question but would it work?

not sure what u mean by that,

The same method applies to making your own custom modules to display "within your nuke site" u would use the same method but instead of putting the redirect code above in the index.php you would add your desired code instead (eg) your flash.
If your not the best at php like me, make your new page in html and then use the Nuke Tools witch can be found he on Clan-Themes, paste your html in and it will make the index file for u in php, great Tool !

hope that helps

I am a noob with php!

Let me clarify...

Say i made a feature that was hosted as a seperate page on same server as the current site - would that be able to get called in?

Sounds great if the answer is yes - i am just a bit concerned with the site going tits up lol.

Do you have a link for the tools you speak of?

Cheers for the help!

Post It Worked! Posted: Fri Jul 13, 2007 12:33 am

Thanks so much Noto!

It worked great. I so appreciate your help.
Now I'm going to try the same for psychostats!

Do you (or anyone else) by any chance know how I can incorporate the phpnuke theme to the bb?

The bb was initially set up on the server before doing a website. (Thus, my initial question.)
It is PHPBB version 2.0.6.
