Just wondering what is the best version for my clan site I have loaded Nuke basic and Platinum into my site but I was wondering which people think is the best.

Just wondering nuke has lots of add ons modules etc wondering if the other versions has as many?

Nuke Evolution is by far more secure than Platinum.
Raven Nuke is also very secure, but, very streamlined. (Read as far fewer mods and modules installed and secured)
Platinum has by far the most modules and the greatest risk of being hacked.

It's up to you to decide what you want.

None of these comments are meant to knock Loki's work on Platinum, but it does seem that adding modules (other peoples code) inherently increases the likely hood of a security breach.

The question is actually kind of one of an opinion, the most versitile is of course the standard version of Nuke. Nuke Platinum has the most built in options and looks more like the standard version of Nuke so understanding its layout and associating it with the standard version of Nuke is easy. Evolution is a bird of a different color, it's well put together however it is limited. Much like Platinum themes need to be specifically built for it, but at the core (the admin section) it looks different and has a different feel to it.

If you're new I would reccomend a regular version of Nuke and then advance to Platinum. After feeling comfortable with Platinum then try Evolution. My guess would be that you will probably go with Platinum or a standard version of Nuke depending on your websites needs.

* Just a note, I'm not a fan of Evolution due to its lack of looking "Nuke" like and it's lack of theme variations. This doesn't mean it's not a good program, I just don't favor it.

EVOLUTION....hands down ! You cannot beat the support that evo gives.
Everyone can say this is better or thats better, but what it comes down to is this : what happens when something gets fudged up ? Are you going to get help ?

i went with ravennuke works good no bugs and this is what clan themes uses, good thing about ravenn nuke you dont need themes made for it like nuke evolution and the other nuk cms,

I think ,IMHO ,for upgrading and fixing ,plain php-nuke version is okey .
Nuke evo is good in security ..
I never use nuke platinum.

well like as said a couple a times above it just depends on ya preference. all nukes are subject to attacks all the time and its always down to one major flaw in modules used!

at the mo im on platinum as there is PLENTY of mods out there for it tho i only use very few of em as the more u use the more vulnerable u are to attacks.

its not exactly the nuke type u choose but the mods so long u get them from a respectable outlet u should be ok.
a big no no is in the themes! be careful of themes from other sites as many of these have been tampered with.
if u use say plat themes be sure they are from the distributor/authors site and submitted by the author etc

what so called hackers ("attackers", hackers have better things to do!) will do is go to free upload sites and upload there content there knowing many will download the files and use em mainly using the 'squery' approach. they can then monitor whos downloaded and thats it, off to ur site they go and attack ya. most of the files they use have a code which then the file once activated will let them know where it is being used.

basically so long u have all the security mods up to date and use very few mods and only genuine mods your cool. also if it aint broke dont fix it!!! i mean this like say v2 of your mod is now available on another site...unless urgently needed, dont bother!

u can search your php files in your themes or modules before u use em. look for the most common of all "squery" command and if it points to another ip or domain etc DITCH IT!

its not the nuke that makes things better bro, its you!
