OK I am new to this I have tried the install folder but this didnt work so I followed the manual installation.

I made a database through my CPanel and a User, I then imported the SQL file held in the SQL folder and this loaded successfully. I changed the permission on the folders as stated to 777 or 666 where required and edited the config.php with the name of the data base this is sort of what I put dont worry this not real just to find out if I went wrong. I uploaded everything to the folder called "plat". When I went to www.mysite.com/plat/admin.php it just said error file not found I tried going through the process many times checking everything but it wont work what am I doing wrong....please someone before I throw the computer from the top of a large building lol...

i noticed that u have added your own prefix.

$prefix = "thedawn";
$user_prefix = "thedawn";

Make sure u changed that in the sql file, if not replace the prefix in your config file to what they are by default.

but this may not be your problem as you would of got a database error and not a 404 File Not Found .

A link to your site would help http://thedawn dot com/plat (warning pop up alert !) is being redirected.
