Post Trying to install news forum module but cant mod some files! Posted: Fri Jun 15, 2007 8:58 pm
Hey guys. I have been trying to install the phpnuke module that allows me to post in to news forum and it will show up on my homepage as a nuke news. But during my installation I am having problems editing the files of functions and funcitons_post. When I replace the lines and save the file as stated in the instruction the file formatting messes up and the filesize of the document decreases. Is this supposed to happen? Plus In Functions_post one of the lines that are supposed to be replaced occurs multiple times. Do I replace all the occurences or just this one.

The filesize decreasing isn't a big issue. Sometimes with modding you take away more than you add. Over the last few months of this site I have trimmed most files down to nearly nothing in size.

About the multiple occurrences. Usually it says close to line 194 blah blah. If it doesn't just make a proper backup as you should be doing already and try occurrence at a time starting at the first.

I added the Forum News Advanced onto my old site, i liked it a lot and it would definatly suit most clan sites as the comments are made via the forums... and clans tend to spend all there time in the forums.

I didnt get no problems when i installed it, all i remember is that it was a big module to add (loads of dam edits)

It was to long ago to remember where/how everything works now Nerd
